I think the left will eventually use the idea of "identifying as" whichever race they feel like, since they are currently stuck defending a super white racist woman who wrongfully claimed heritage of another race. The idea is that if she "identifies" as a native American, then she is one- even though she has less Indian DNA in her than the default level of whites. If she "identifies" as an Indian, then everything is fine, right?
