Seems to me that it started dropping after the Secure Fence Act was passed! Also I am sure that the financial crash had a lot to do with it as well.

...he'd already had gotten Mexico to allocate the funds.

He hasn't...which indicates to me he never intended to build it.

The fence they voted for in 2006 was built and currently exists along most routes between Mexico and the US with no natural barrier.

Actual border crossings is of course unknown, you can only estimate it

Most estimates would probably mostly be based on apprehensions

Yes, why are we suddenly acting like there is a mass immigration crisis? There is not. We withstood much higher levels of border crossings in the early 2000's. And yet now for some reason Republicans sole concern is illegal immigration at levels that probably have no individual effect on them at all. not necessarily. it could just reflect more lax enforcement. border crossings may very well have gone down, but the graph doesn't try to describe that at all, and given BAC was being his smug stupid self, it was important for me to point that out.
