No, really the H.K. Jockey Club (HKJC) sends out invitations in the fall every year to those horses and fillies/mares they want in their International Race Day held in December. They pay EVERYTHING. Cathay Pacific business class for owner (2 tickets), trainer (2), jockey (2) and groom (1) and of course flight for your horse. For 5 days the hotel (Conrad International) is paid, meals, car with driver...all paid.
God bless my old school trainer. He opted to not take the "fancy" flight and chose to fly with the horse, spending most of the 14 hour flight inside the box stall feeding him carrots dipped in salt to force him to drink lots of water throughout the flight.

My horse was at Belmont in N.Y. at the time so, we all flew out of N.Y.
