I consider my choice to believe in God as logical......

    1) I look at the universe and conclude it could not possibly be the result of random shit happening.....it shouts INTELLIGENT DESIGN everywhere you look.....
    2) I find it illogical that an entity powerful enough to create the universe would not communicate that power to his creation...
    3) of all the religion in the world today the three that teach there is a creator, despite being completely opposed on nearly every thing else, agree on who the creator is....
    4) between Judaism, Christianity , and Islam, two teach that humanity can achieve righteousness through their own actions......I have seen humanity in action.....I do not find that credible.....

    that leaves Christianity......

Which puts one right back at blind faith.
It's really not blind faith on his part. You can't prove something doesn't exist but you can say that after a lifetime of searching you have not seen any evidence. Blind faith is believing in God without any evidence to support that belief.

I've been doing a lot of stargazing.. I found a place away from the street lights with a wall I can lean against while looking up. .. I was watching the moon and Mars last night, and then Orion came up late. etc.

The order of the universe is amazing. I get the orbits and so forth and I get we are just a bunch of random DNA accidents. But I'm not too jaded to be awed by the wonder of it all.. It makes you feel small and significant at the same time

If Hawking posited a multiverse to escape the implications of a finite universe, that necessitates a beginning and perhaps a beginner—he is forced to believe in another entity that exists beyond the observable universe.

I remember a cartoon right after he died. He was in his wheelchair at the foot of the stairs leading to the pearly gates. The caption simply said “SHIT”. I thought he was a fascinating intellect who did an excellent job explaining how God made the universe. He rooted around in God’s toolbox and that did nothing to diminish my faith or appreciation of his works
