You already used this definition. I agree with it. The United States it not organized as a democracy. It is organized as a federated republic. The supreme power of the government lies in a constitution, not people.

Its with every dictionary and encyclopedia in the world
Dictionaries don't define words. No dictionary is authoritative on any word. No dictionary owns a word. Dictionaries are used to standardize spelling pronunciation.

That said, I happen to agree with this definition. The United States is not a democracy. It is a federated republic.

The meaning of the word 'republic' and 'democracy' come from ancient Rome and ancient Greece. No dictionary defines any word.

The Constitution of the United States for the federal government, the constitutions of the several States for each of the several States, the constitutions (usually called 'charters') of the various counties within that State, and the constitutions (usually called 'charters') of the city governments within those counties.

Actually, there is. It rests upon the constitution of that government.

The UAE, Argentina, China and North Korea all have constitutions. Here they are:

You're right about the UK and Canada, but we knew about those already.

The UK is not a republic and does not have a codified constitution. It hasn't fallen into an oligarchy or a dictatorship yet.

    Only republics have constitutions.
Actually the USSR did have a constitution. It didn't mean jack shit but they did have one.

    It did though:

But as I said earlier, Stalin ignored it.

A democracy has no constitution. Ever. A constitutional form of government is a republic.
