I would say Donald Trump and his supporters are proto-fascists. If it weren't for the rule of law, and our democratic traditions morally contraining them they might ultimately evolve into true brown shirts.

Trumps supporters were chanting "Lock her up!" about Senator Feinstein at their last rally. That, and parading a maniquin of Hillary in cage wearing an orange jump suit?? It does not get more Italian black-shirt than that.

Trump himself isn't even close to being Hitler.
I would rate Trump three out of five Benito Mussolins.
