Default Save Our Seas Act signed today

President Donald Trump added his signature to the “Save Our Seas Act” on Thursday, green-lighting an initiative to clean up eight million tons of debris from the planet’s oceans.

“As president I will continue to do everything I can to stop other nations from making our oceans into their landfills. That’s why I’m pleased – very pleased, I must say – to put my signature on this important legislation,” Trump said as he signed the Save Our Seas Act into law at the Oval Office.

Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

I think I like this. It seems a little out of character for Trump (and his followers) but on the surface this seems like a good idea.

I don't know the fine details here. It sounds good ... but could have a 'reverse' meaning.

Jeez I wonder how many rounds of watering down by lobbyists that had to go through.

Also this is pure cuckery, why should the United States give any shit about legislation that merely benefits the entire world, instead of just the United States? Or at least hurting everybody else in the world but the US. Come on. Have some standards.

Just keep repeating the 'rats mantra: 'pubs want dirty air, dirty water, toss granny over a cliff...' By painting the GOP as evil neanderthals, you never have to address real issues.

I believe you claimed the other day that the US Constitution only authorizes the federal government to fund the military and build roads. I have seen tons of other Republicans make the same claim. There is nothing, nada, zilch, in the US Constitution (according to you) about funding and implementing environmental programs.

So I assume that you passionately and vehemently oppose this legislation, no?

I am for this. Excellent. Nice to see big business add needed support, even if they had to be pulled by their ears like a kid to clean up a mess they made.

Since when do you think Republicans are originalists?

As an originalist myself, and a civil engineer with extensive graduate education in environmental engineering, as well as an active outdoor person, I find your attempt to paint originalists as anti-environment offensive. The Federal government can regulate environmental issues using originalist methods one of two ways.
    1. Pass an amendment.
    2. Provide guidance / standards/ coordination to the states (preferred).
