Default IPCC Report: Extreme Weather Events Have Not Increased

The IPCC publish two documents, one is a 32 page report for policymakers, bedwetters, media and politicians alike, whilst the climate report proper is far longer, more sober and scientific in nature. . Naturally the usual suspects latch on to the former, whilst ignoring the latter.

The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change’s (IPCC) newly-released climate report, once again, found little to no evidence global warming caused many types of extreme weather events to increase.

“The IPCC once again reports that there is little basis for claiming that drought, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes have increased, much less increased due to” greenhouse gases, For example, the IPCC’s report noted that “there is only low confidence regarding changes in global tropical cyclone numbers under global warming over the last four decades.” Pielke pointed out this inconvenient data.

Much like the IPCC’s 2013 climate assessment, the new special report confirmed what Pielke and others have said for years about the relationship between global warming and extreme weather. But don’t expect to hear that from many other media outlets, especially those that often cite individual weather events as evidence of man-made warming. For example, The Washington Post’s write-up of the IPCC’s report focused on the mainline findings — namely, that “the world is woefully off target” to keep future global warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius.

This is from the IPCC fourth and fifth assessment.

“the warming of the climate system is unequivocal” and that it is affecting ecosystems worldwide. And the Fifth Assessment Report (AR5, 2013/14) asserted that “[h]uman influence on the climate system is clear, and recent anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases are the highest in history.”

You are cheery picking and you are dishonest. I assume you an oil company schill.

Carbon dioxide, methane, and other GHGs are known and proven by experimental science to trap solar heat in the atmosphere.

Continuing to burn fossil fuels, and emit billions of tons of GHGs into the atmosphere is an existential threat to humans and to the planet.

Technologies and strategies need to be implemented aggressively to reduce human GHG contributions to the atmosphere.

These are facts and there is nothing remotely debatable about them.

Climate Deniers have spend three decades denying, downplaying, and delaying.
Smart people are not listening to them anymore.

Future generations will undoubtedly consider Deniers to be among the worst and most immoral human beings to have ever lived.

Ok smartarse, which of the four RCP scenarios outlined in the IPCC AR5 do you think is the most likely? Simple enough question, but watch how he will run a mile from answering!

[sarcasm] Oh and thanks for the basic science lesson, we never covered IR spectroscopy or the Arrhenius equation on my university chemistry course. [/sarcasm]

They are not facts, even now the IPCC cannot give a definitive answer to the value of ECS and TCR for CO2 climate forcing. I am a lukewarmist, there is an anthropogenic signal but a fairly weak one. Care to show any empirical evidence, and not just CMIP5 climate model predictions? Of course you won't, you're far too arrogant and pompous to do that.

The author of the OP once posted an obscure blog written by a self-described mentally ill mushroom farmer - and pointed to it as a source of expert climate science information.

Once you start pointing to mentally ill mushroom farmers as climate experts, you never, ever recover a shred of your credibility.

What would you suggest? Imagine you rule the planet...what would you do?

Why don't you stick to what do best, namely sexually harassing women on internet forums?? You are withourt doubt the most sanctimonious, arrogant and smug arsehole on here. Be sure that you will banned from future threads.

The pompous sanctimonious twat refuses to engage in meaningful discussion, just as I predicted.
