In an exclusive ABC interview that was set to air on Thursday morning, first lady Melania Trump complained that she is “the most bullied person in the world” and commenters on Twitter — where bullying is de rigueur — begged to differ.

Speaking with ABC host Tony Llamas, the wife of President Donald Trump was asked about her BeBest anti-bullying campaign and her first response was mentioning herself which set off the online commentariat, with one responding: “So #bebest is about her. The entire family is self-absorbed.”

That was one of the nicer responses, with multiple commenters responding her comment was a veiled reference to her husband bullying her behind the scenes.

In general, if you're either a celebrity, or in the public eye, or just known for something, you're going to get bullied online.

I'm always amazed by it when I go to twitter or other social media - someone can do or say something that you think is completely innocuous, and there are always people who just go off about it, and get crazy w/ the insults & criticism.

I can't stand it. It's an extremely negative byproduct of the internet age. Common decency has basically been abandoned - people say things w/ the anonymity of the internet that they would never say to someone's face, or if they had to put their name on it.

Melania didn't ask to be 1st lady, and to me, I have always sensed a bit of reluctance about it from her (nothing overt - just a hunch). I empathize with what she's saying.
