NEW YORK – President Donald Trump’s opening remarks at the United Nations Tuesday created an awkward and unexpected moment, with other world leaders laughing or grumbling at the American president’s boast about his administration’s accomplishments. Trump began his speech by saying his administration “has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country,” an assessment not shared by some of the 130 world leaders gathered in the chamber.

"So true," Trump said as he looked out at the crowd of UN diplomats. "I didn’t expect that reaction but that’s okay.”

Someone commented that he just read words with no comprehension of what he was saying. I agree with that assessment. The man could no more detail American policy than my three year old grandson. It truly is embarrassing

I think he spends all his time yelling at the television, rage tweeting, nursing petty grievances, watching cable news, and almost no time on learning or getting better at statecraft and governance.

I am not even sure the word "embarrassing" really captures this kind of abject incompetence and foolishness.

Also surprising, is how much jpp.com conservatives worship this hapless fool.

Would not confront ISIS- calling them "JV" until they took over huge swatches of Syria/Iraq.

Would not talk to Putin. he and Putin would sit in chairs and sulk at each other.

Favored improved relations w/Iran at the expense of our Sunni partners.

Bombed Libya into regime change and caused it to be come a failed terrorist state
