Default "Walmart says Trump's new tariffs could raise prices between 10 and 25 percent"

"The latest round of tariffs imposed by President Trump as part of an ongoing trade war with China could see prices rise at Walmart, the retailer has said."

"Walmart sent a letter to the Officer of United States Trade Representative, warning that the new tariffs, if imposed, could cause steep price hikes in its stores. “This round of tariffs could impact a significant number of common consumer items that are not easily replaceable,” said the letter from Walmart. The company said that the customers could suffer the worst of the tariffs."

We'll see if Americans can back their President in his battle with China and their unfair Trade Practices.

Clearly we're going to now have to increase the social services funding that we provide to WalMart employees because the company will not pay them a living wage. May have to do the same for Amazon employees. This could really hit corporate welfare hard.

Walmart announced plans to increase the starting wage rate for all hourly associates in the U.S. to $11, expand maternity and parental leave benefits and provide a one-time cash bonus for eligible associates of up to $1,000

Won't that be interesting to see? trump started the payments to starving farmers, only to have wheat/corn farmers finding that they aren't part of the program.
I'm sure he'll up food stamp funding once the 25% hike kicks in after Jan. 1.

On another note...this is actually how tariffs are supposed to work. Goods are supposed to be so expensive, it's worth it to pay for American made. Unfortunately, labor is only one reason corps. go overseas. trump will leave office in pretty much the same manner as he left numerous casinos...a failure.
Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
