Default Alabama’s “Dinosaur Adventure Land” is a Sadder, Cheaper Creation Museum

It is Alabama after all, the sad effects of inbreeding

Anna Claire Vollers of Al.com just published a lengthy profile on Creationist Kent Hovind and his Dinosaur Adventure Land, a dirt-cheap version of the Creation Museum. It’s a bullshit sandwich for people who don’t need all the extra condiments. No one’s even sending this museum thoughts and prayers.

He says more than a thousand people have come to Dinosaur Adventure Land since it opened in April. Families, church youth groups and even four-wheeling clubs have not been deterred by the park’s remote location or enter-at-your-own-risk policy.

Part of the property is wooded and crisscrossed with dirt trails. The main pond has a “redneck waterslide” made from corrugated plastic tubing, and a zipline from a sand dune on the shore to a light post stuck on a tiny island in the middle of the pond.

“Enter-at-your-own-risk policy”?! Yep: There’s no liability insurance. And while that wouldn’t be an issue at normal museums, it is when you’re going down a makeshift zipline and a waterslide apparently made during an elementary school’s craft day. Give Hovind credit for finding a new twist on museums promoting Young Earth Creationism: At his, many enter, but only Adam and Eve end up leaving.

I had no idea I could feel pity for someone who deserves all the mockery he gets.

Somehow, this could be an amusing afternoon. (I have visions of the children all riding little dinosaurs' around the place)

You're wasting a Saturday afternoon here because you "have visions of the children all riding little dinosaurs' around the place"? How Fowl...
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

If I had the time, I would photoshop Jesus walking hand in hand with a baby dinosaur at an amusement park.

I don't think it would be a waste. It could be fun. You could get a feel for your fellow Americans. Find out who would bring their Family to the Park. See what food they serve at the Park. See what cars they drive. (You know, I'm starting to think 'Beverly Hillbillies')

"It should be obvious to anyone why conservatives and libertarians should be against Trump. He has no grounding in belief. No core philosophy. No morals. No loyalty. No curiosity. No empathy and no understanding. He demands personal loyalty and not loyalty to the nation. His only core belief is in his own superiority to everyone else. His only want is exercise more and more personal power." smb / purveyor of fact 18/03/18

I spent my Saturday at a car show. It was fun. I got a "feel" for friendly fellow Americans who are car buffs, they sure drive some awesome, gas guzzling cars (like me!). They had a pig roast and and a good band afterward.
Sure beat wasting my Saturday in front of a computer!

You should really stop picking on the mentally ill.

    It's just not fair.

    I can't argue with that, RB 60.

Only downside was driving home 1 hour on the interstate. It dropped down into the upper 50's and I only wore a tee-shirt. Of course, I heard it from the GF who told me I should have taken a jacket or sweatshirt!
