FBI background checks only go back as far as a person's age of 18 which is meaningless in this case.
Teenage pool party misconduct would be handles by local authorities.

I had a TOP SECRET security clearance when I was in SAC...back in the 1950's. I had a BI performed on me by the FBI...and I think I was only 19 when I got it. I cannot imagine the checked only the two years prior when I was in service.

Oh...the congress will let us know when the "end of story" comes. YOU do not get to decide that.

That's not the case with the FBI; there is no discretion on penalties. You lie to them, you go to jail.

The FBI can certainly investigate. Trump and the GOP are preventing them from doing so. The reason it should be the FBI is because this is a high stakes appointment to a lifetime seat on SCOTUS, and since lying to the FBI comes with a clear penalty that includes jailtime, while lying to local PD does not, those folks they are investigating will be compelled to tell the truth under penalty of prison.

Just ask how lying to the FBI worked out for Papadopolous, or Gates, or Flynn, or Manafort....

The local police could check the story out right now. The local police could see if there are people who can shed more light on the issue. The local police have jurisdiction on cases like these. The local police know the area. They know the people. They are probably better suited for this

He lied all the way through these hearings. Senate and congressional hearings are a joke, nothing but theater. Folks show up and lie all the way through these things and there's never a penalty.
