Job gains for the manufacturing industry in the last 12 months are the most since 1995 (August also)
    https://www.cnbc.com/2018/08/03/job-...ince-1995.html
Over the past year through July, U.S. manufacturing added 327,000 jobs, the most of any 12-month period since April 1995, when the figure added a healthy 345,000 positions.
U.S. manufacturers produced about $6 trillion in gross output in 2017, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Still, the sector represented 11.6 percent of U.S. GDP in 2017, down from 12.3 percent in 2011 and 28.1 percent in 1953.

Look at raphsfor2018manufacturingj ob growth. it jumps up because oftax reform / strong markets/and deregulations

Hopefully the rest of your family is not as stupid as you. Unfortunately I am beginning to think you are the most intelligent of the clan even with your IQ lower then your age,

Did you happen to notice in your graph that it says "Trump elected"? That would be in November of 2016. Did you happen to notice what the trend was BEFORETrump was elected? The idea that the tax reform that gave billions to the wealthiest of America, and nothing to the middle class, is your delusion. Did you happen to notice what the market was when Obama was elected, and then when Trump was elected? Do you have a clue as to what the Bush recession did to the economy?

And what is so hard to understand about the question? Who, or what, forced corporations to do business with China? Greed, and lower wages, is the answer. And it was your Repugnant ones (under Bush) that allowed China to have permanent membership in the WTO. The conditions for doing business (sharing tech advances, etc.) have been there since the beginning. Bush, and your Repugnant ones, did nothing about it. Obama sued the Chinese government for these violations of the WTO agreement over 200 times. He raised tariffs on China, all over the objections of the likes of Trump, and the Repugnant ones.

Give it a break. The more you post the more you show how ignorant you really are.

Then you have to ask yourself why did Trump exempt the cloting industry, which includes both his manufacturing, and Ivanka's, from the tariff's.

In an interview Wednesday with Xinhua, the official state-run press agency of the People's Republic of China, Ma said the idea was premised on a friendly U.S.-China partnership and rational trade relations.

“That premise no longer exists today, so our promise cannot be fulfilled,” he said

odd.....the only tariffs that would raise prices on American goods being sold to China's burgeoning middle class would be the tariffs imposed by the Chinese.....

China has adopted an industrial policy specifically designed to force the transfer of technology from American businesses to Chinese firms in order to gain an unfair advantage and build a dominant global presence. China’s joint venture requirement for certain American companies is the poster child for its strategy. Companies that want to produce in China and sell into the Chinese market must enter into joint ventures that result in their technology being turned over to their Chinese partners. The United States, on the other hand, imposes no such reciprocal requirements.

Increasingly, China is also forcing U.S. companies to localize their research and development — the seed corn of future IP — on Chinese soil. Further, China is coercing American firms into providing its state-owned enterprises with below-market acquisition and licensing terms while asserting ownership over any improvements made to the licensed technology.

So NOW you're in favor of regulating American businesses and what they can or cannot do with international trade partners? If a U.S. firm doesn't want to share R&D and tech, then they simply do business elsewhere. No one is *forcing* them to participate. Your whining is like a kid who joins a Little League team and then is "forced" to share equipment and go to practice. It's soooo UNFAIR.

What a brilliant solution to economic downturns! We'll just schedule a natural disaster every now and then and pay ppl with our insurance premiums to fix stuff!

then foreign countries will not recognize US patents. or it will jeopardize the worldwide Patent Cooperation Treaty .
The answer is not to put US patents at risk, it's to stop Chinese theft of IP

    JFC Owl.
China is a yuge market for business to expand into. when we sell overseas and bring $ back here it helps our economy as well.
Tax reform means US business are likely now to do just that, instead of keeping profits in foreign banks
