Maybe, but isn't there a flip side of that? My understanding is that the woman expressed that she was extremely reluctant to even report it, much less go public. Maybe Feinstein was trying to respect that & only press the issue if it was absolutely necessary.

If she has conflicting accounts, on record, that explains the feet dragging on testifying before congress. She gets one more chance to appear and if she blows it off, take the vote.
