Shouldn't he hire better people in the 1st place?
Can't see how this reflects well on him.

I'm a big fan of honesty in political debate, so let me address one of your claims:
That wasn't done without justification. You seem to have forgotten what led up to it. At first, there was no special counsel. We knew that the Russians had interfered in the 2016 campaign, but we were allowing that to be investigated in the ordinary course by the FBI. But then one of Trump's buddies was in the cross-hairs -- a man who Trump has admitted that he knew, at the time, to be guilty of the federal crime of making false statements to investigators. Trump responded to that with the highly unusual step of isolating the head of the FBI and telling him he'd like him to let Flynn off. Then, when the head of the FBI refused to cave into that corrupt request, Trump summarily fired him. At that point, the FBI had no credibility when it came to continuing the Russia investigation -- the new person in charge would only have been there because the last person was looking places the president told him not to look.... and that new person would know he could also be fired if he did his job too well. So, at that point, even life-long Republicans like Rosenstein saw that the investigation would need to be carried out in a more independent way, by someone buffered somewhat from Trump, if it was to have any credibility. That's how we got the special counsel.
Trump has nobody but himself to blame. He could have let Comey continue with the investigation in the ordinary course, but his ego wouldn't allow it. And the resulting firing was so unconscionable that it even swayed Republicans like Rosenstein into admitting a more independent process was needed.

I often get the feeling that, at least with the less drool-covered RWers here, that they're just playing a game of Annoy-the-Left.
If you're serious about reforming the government with ethical, beholden-to-the-people congresscritters, you don't do it by selecting an incompetent, inexperienced buffoon who would rather golf and watch TV and bloviate on Twitter than do the work of the people -- *all* the ppl, not that tiny percentage left who lick his boots. You do it by finding and supporting new candidates, particularly ones who want to get money out of the whole election/ruling process, and voting for them. Primary the current crop and replace them with candidates who are willing to forego all the goodies and represent *all* the people in their district.
But that's too hard. So instead they voted for the incompetent, inexperienced toadstool buffoon.
