There was never any guilty plea by Clinton. And Obama never admitted that he knew that she was guilty of a federal crime. The story of the Clinton investigation is fundamentally different in each and every particular. And that's the point. If it had been the same, then every single person in this forum knows you would have treated is as an epic scandal worthy of Obama's immediate impeachment.

No. As you know, Comey's firing was the precipitating scandal that resulted in the Special Counsel's appointment. Before Trump's brain-fart of a decision to fire Comey and to admit it was about the Russia thing, the Republicans in the key Justice Department roles were content to allow an ordinary-course FBI investigation into Russia's meddling in the election. But once the FBI had been fatally compromised by Trump's politicization of the process, an independent investigation with some buffer against Trump interference was necessary to restore credibility. That's why there's a special prosecutor.

If you want to debate with a grown-up, I'm going to ask you to try to act like one. This fifth-grade name-calling approach is pathetic, and I want no part of such a discussion.
No need to be touchy about the M Guy lol.

A couple of things: you plowed right through the word change by Comey like it never happened. Do you deny it happened and if not, what’s the justification for it?

I realize the Comey firing precipitated the M investigation—Comey leaked his memo with that precise intention. But that still doesn’t address the lack of an alleged crime. Again, if M’s mandate was narrowed down to investigating the alleged crime of obstruction of justice that would be one thing.

But M subsumed a counterintelligence investigation—which none of the investigators at the time, alleged that Trump was engaged in criminal activity prior to the election. And like Woodward, they were ‘looking hard’ and couldn’t find anything.

Do you deny that Strzok/Page were involved in a coordinated ‘leak strategy’ prior to Mueller's appoint? Keep in mind they were leaking classified intelligence from the FISA court and revealing an innocent citizen’s name to the press. Specifically, the usual suspects—WashPo and the NYT.

Forget that they are basically uncharged [or perhaps yet to be charged] criminals, what do you think the objective of their ‘leak strategy’ was?

And if their strategy and objective were both criminal [abuse of power, would probably cover it] what affect would that have on the Mueller investigation?

Go back and read Comey's official statement during his big press conference. He was still calling it an investigation.

Anyway, as you're aware, the Mueller investigation isn't even over and it has already found a long list of crimes, resulting in both guilty pleas and convictions. If there's a scandal here about Comey, it's the fact that he was so clearly prejudiced against Clinton and in favor of Trump, to the point he intervened extra-legally twice to help Trump him elected, all the while carefully avoiding any acknowledgement of the damning evidence being found against the Trump campaign. His basic MO was that if something was disadvantageous to Clinton, he would trumpet it to his utmost, whereas if something was disadvantageous to Trump, then it would be inappropriate to comment on an ongoing negotiation. What's amazing is that even someone as unethically compromised in Trump's favor as Comey still wasn't enough of a blind loyalist for Trump's purposes. And because of that, the dim bulb managed to saddle himself with a special prosecutor. You just have to laugh.

n, if M’s mandate was narrowed down to investigating the alleged crime of obstruction of justice that would be one thing.
That would be a really terrible idea. What we have is a huge campaign by Russia to subvert our elections and to compromise top people all around Trump. Trump's obstruction of justice may be the easiest of his crimes to demonstrate, but it's hardly the biggest concern on the table. We need a plausibly independent investigation into this Russian behavior and those Americans who were complicit in it.

And Do you deny that Strzok/Page were involved in a coordinated ‘leak strategy’ prior to Mueller's appoint?
I know of no evidence of such a strategy.

Madame Runner Up is right lol.

Trump IS uncontrollable, that’s why so many people want rid of him. That’s why they spied on his campaign. That’s why they rushed into appointing an SP without justification. They were supposed to be rid of him by now, in fact.

And yes, his voters EXPECT him to fire people after the midterms and they probably know who they are.

    Spot on, Madame Runner Up.
The problem is...what Swamp Creatures will he replace them with?

And they are correct to want that. 'Uncertainty' was the major reason Republicans gave for not investing, for shutting down the economy during Obama.

Fake news alert. The truth: Trump's campaign was investigated because of impropriety and possible Russian collusion[/QUOTE]

More fake news. The investigation was warranted after the firing of Comey appeared to be obstruction.

Those would be 'all the best people' that Trump himself selected and hired.

Never in the vast history of this amazing nation has there been an administration so poorly assembled which has experienced such a high turnover rate.

If all these people have to be fired, then whomever hired them must have done a pretty lousy job of it. It was such a lousy job. Never before has there been such a lousy job of hiring.
