Getting back to the OP, I'm wondering if someone can walk me through the logistics of what this kind of payout scenario would look like.

Who does the paying out? The DNC? What does that look like...does an operative just approach her w/ an amount, and ask her if she'd be willing to put herself out there nationally & go through all of this in order to collect?

And how did they single her out; these allegations weren't public. Do these operatives go around to anyone from his school days or early workplaces, and just make offers to anyone & everyone? How is it that none of these unsuccessful offers were ever reported or ever came to light in any way? Is it really plausible that someone would get a monetary offer from a major political party, refuse it, and just keep quiet about it?
