Manafort is already looking at spending what's left of his life in prison. His deal with Mueller, cuts it down to 10 years max likely with gain time, good behavior, parole etc after about 6 or 8 years.

If he lies, he just loses the deal.

Why would he commit perjury under those circumstances?

Also, Manafort will not be testifying to Mueller under oath, so he couldn't perjure himself anyway.
