Default Trump Couldn’t Get Mexico To Pay For His Wall. Now Americans Won’t Pay Either.

WASHINGTON — Mexico refused to pay for President Donald Trump’s wall, and now it appears American taxpayers may never have to either.

A spending bill to keep the federal government running past Sept. 30 will not contain money for Trump’s biggest presidential campaign promise. Republican congressional leaders are instead postponing the fight over a wall along the southwestern border until after the November midterm elections — when Democrats will almost certainly have more influence and possibly be weeks away from taking control of the House.

“This is the GOP Congress giving the president a big middle finger,” said Stan Collender, a budget expert who spent years working for House and Senate committees. “It’s the Republican Congress saying, ‘We’re going to make it more difficult for you to shut down the government because it’s not good for us, even if it’s good for you.’”

While most Americans are not particularly interested in a border wall, Trump’s base is, and will likely see his readiness to sign yet another spending bill that lacks wall money as a broken promise.

“There is a strong segment of Trump voters that’s demoralized,” said William Gheen, the head of the hard-line group Americans for Legal Immigration. “Because there’s no wall, illegal crossings are at a new peak, possibly higher than Obama levels, and the Republican House spent its time on an amnesty compromise bill rather than enforcement like we were promised by Trump.”

It is a very stupid and already enslaved public who looks around at the current state of this society and begs to be walled in by an authoritarian power structure that already has them under constante corporate state surveillance, has them intentionally squeezed economically, has militarized its corporate state police which are now free to murder citizens in the streets and even their own homes with impunity, that has corporate for profit prisons leasing out "convict" labor to corporations for pennies on the dollar, and a political system that has no representation for anyone outside the Wall Street/donor/"job creator" class.

Will daffy shut down the government to get a wall built that will not do anything? He says he will, but that cannot be trusted.

The wall is but a fading memory.
Congress will not do anything until after the midterm elections and the Dems will control congress after that.

Trump's wall is just a pipe dream.
We have the intellect to imagine the finality of our own demise but do not have the sophistication to overcome our survival instinct and accept it.
Solution? Magical thinking and childish promises of everlasting life.
    Ergo, religion.

To cats, sure. They don't live very long.

The Dems will lose the mid-terms as sure as you're born. They haven't a hope in hell of winning after the suicidal campaign they've been running. "We'll get rid of ICE!" "MS-13 are people too!" "Remove the borders!" "Attack Trump voters!"

Trump's wall is just a pipe dream.
They've already started building the wall. Remember, if Leonthecat says it, it's Fake News.

Do you pay attention? Apparently not... if you hadn't heard about the new NAFTA deal. Mexico will pay whether we build the wall or not. You pseudo intellectuals don't even realize your panties are showing! Instead of wasting your breath complaining about Trump, your time would be better spent on your knees thanking God almighty that Donald J. Trump was able to save America from the complete disaster that would have been had Hillary Rodham Clinton. That's all I have to say about that.

Are you still pretending that Mexico will be paying for the wall?? Its NEVER going to happen, and neither will we be paying for that fiasco. Do you know that even the people of Texas are against the wall?

No doubt he'll bluster and poster for the base, then cave in as usual.

Surely the answer is to build a wall round the nuttiest trumping states? Everyone would help pay for that, including many foreign counties, as long as the Fuhrer himself stayed inside with his troops!

Your claim that 2 years is not, therefore you enlighten us all of what time is and why it matters in this case.
