Default Global Warming Sends Us Another Major Hurricane. Florence Strongest Storm To Hit Caro

Human industrial activity has warmed the planet and caused hurricanes to be more severe.

Now we have Major Hurricane Florence.

Strongest Storm to hit Carolinas in decades

That's what we get for ignoring consequences.

Looks like the storm is going to slow down near the coast. This is a worst case scenario which will result in extreme rainfall and flooding.

Watching this thing moving steadily toward the US coast is a very ominous feeling.

Deep sympathies and best wishes to the threatened people. I suggested elsewhere that Trump should go and build a quick wall!

They borrowed money from FEMA for ICE. Hope this isn’t another Puerto Rico.

The development of tropical systems has a lot to do with the lack of wind sheer in the tropics.

    Capitalism, not so much lol.

The deadliness of this storm will not be the wind, but the rain, just like Harvey.

I believe otherwise, and in alignment with mainstream scientific thinking.

Capitalism has driven the greediest to pursue profits with callous disregard to the consequences.

Solar and wind power is not as profitable as fossil fuels, so capitalists have powered our industry with fossil fuels. They have even created and massaged a narrative that injects doubt into the consequences of releasing so much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere of our finite planet.

A more sensible approach would have been to learn the big picture before introducing such a big change in the physics of the planet upon which we all depend.

We know from space exploration that a planet which supports life and human activity is extremely rare. Most planets do not. Given that we have no 'plan B planet' we should be far more careful with how we treat this one. Especially considering that, due to religion, we are unable to control our population growth.

You can correlate religion and capitalism with the development of tropical systems?

    That’s fascinating lol!
