The news is the news. It's not fake. The few who refuse to believe it are fooling themselves. That doesn't make America great.

And what happened to that? Are we great yet? Or was that another impossible dream.

The economy is going strong but who does that benefit? Most of the gains going to the super-rich. And at a terrible cost of adding big onto the national debt. That's irresponsible. We are not collecting enough taxes! Of course that is going to help the economy temporarily. But it can't last. And when the crash comes, how do we pay down the debt during a recession if we can't do it when the money is rolling? Sure, there's more jobs, but most of them are dead-end jobs that don't provide a secure and sizable enough income to pay off student loans, own a home, or build a future nest egg. That's not 'great' at all! That's a rip-off. The super-rich are getting the lion's share and everybody else is fighting over the scraps. That's what's really going on, and it won't end well.

I hope this destroys the Republican party. And I also hope the Democratic party seizes the opportunity to take their power from the strong support of their constituents, instead of from the big powerful corporations and the super-rich who own them. If the Democratic party doesn't learn from this Republican disaster show, and tries to do the same thing on the other side of the coin, just a different flavor of crony capitalism, just like they have been doing ever since Bill Clinton, then that will pave the way for their destruction as well. What comes after that, who knows?
