I do not think it is a well kept state secret that our Obese Orange Pig is extremely dim-witted and easily played.
I mean, all you have to do is read his tweets to know that. It wouldn't be that hard for North Korean state intelligence services to figure it out.

Kim played Trump like a fiddle.

In my opinion, Kim wanted this kabuki theater in Singapore to telegraph an image to the world, and particularly to Russia and China, that he was trying to be reasonable, that he was a statesman, and he was open to rational dialog and defusing tensions.

Trump gave him an unprecedented spotlight on the world stage just like Kim wanted, to accomplish this goal.

I believe this gave Kim the opportunity to defuse and undermine international efforts to isolate him, to sanction him, to punish him.

And it seems to have worked, according to the article I posted.

International sanction are fine . the problem is China is pissed at the trade tariffs and will stick it to USA just because.
