He definitely had a hand in it. I have to say this though.... I thought McCain was a strong experienced honorable candidate. If he had picked Lieberman, who I also liked, he probably would have gotten my vote over the unfamiliar Obama and the not-my-favorite Clinton. I really liked Palin at first and fell for the projected persona. We used to subscribe to Alaska magazine, where she was featured both on the cover and in a big story, when she was half-governor. Then the Palin reality became known.

I salute all war heroes, and really, anyone who put themselves in harm's way for my freedom. McCain led an exemplary life, and was a man of integrity and principle. I don't care that we disagreed on politics.
