Liberals don't appear to be interested in remembering Marc Rich, do they, Comrade D?

I am country blocked from seeing your article because it is one of those newspapers up there in the United States that don't like we folks down here in 'Merica accessing their content. Perhaps you could summarize.

Marc Rich was a fugitive from justice indicted for many of the same crimes Manafort is being tried for. He was accused of $48 million in tax fraud

After a hefty donation from his ex wife to DNC and Clinton Foundation, he secured a pardon from Bill Clinton. No complaints from lefties.

Is there another one of your tales involved, faux "princess?"

    A Story for Every Occasion™.

BTW, should you be calling anyone a "crook?"

How disappointing. I was hoping for one of your tales, maybe involving a tiara.

Well thank you for that. Ironically James Comey was the special prosecutor who found no wrong-doing by Clinton on that pardon.

Clinton took a lot of crap for that, but the fact that was his least defensible pardon really says something, when you stack it up next to other pardons handed out by recent presidents. Several presidents pardoned people in a way that realistically suggested they were exchanging that pardon for silence on matters implicating the president himself. That included GHW Bush, who pardoned the Iran/Contra conspirators, thus destroying any chance of investigators twisting their arms to get them to provide information on those who gave them orders, very likely including Bush himself. It also includes GW Bush, who commuted the sentence of Scooter Libby, who likewise looks like he was in a position to implicate the younger Bush in crimes related to the betrayal of Valerie Plame. Clinton's pardoning of Rich is more like Reagan pardoning George Steinbrenner (who had provided illegal Republican campaign funds). Such pardons of campaign patrons are definitely distasteful, but they exist on a different level than presidents who pardon crooks in their own campaigns and administrations who might otherwise cooperate with investigators against the president. If Trump were to pardon, say, coal baron Robert Murray, it would look like the Rich or Steinbrenner pardon, where if he pardoned Manafort, it would look more like pardoning Libby, North, etc., which looks a whole lot dirtier.
