No doubt.. but I think its more than that.. Iran (Persia) has a long, illustrious history while Saudi Arabia was just such an illiterate backwater with the harshest climate on the planet.

I think they hate the Saudis because the Saudis have had 80 years of slow, steady progress... while poor Iran has had a very tough time under the British model.. and the Shah and the SAVAK and now these end times obsessed screwball Mullahs. When the US/Brits overthrew the Mossadeegh the Saudis had a 50-50 revenue split with ARAMCO while Iran was getting royally screwed by the Brits.. getting less than 13 cents on the dollar.

I wish Iran well.. and I think the Iranian people are certainly fine, but their leadership of religious fanatics have a HUGE chip on their shoulder. I'd like to see them all taken out and shot.
