It is pretty fun to see how lefties cannot answer the opening post. Trying to get an answer to the opening post from a lefty is like trying to force a cat into a toilet.

Yes, they do have original programming. They also produce Kindles, Firesticks, and other products. But many businesses do not produce anything but just sell products produced by others. Amazon provides a services to millions of consumers. Let the people decide what corporations they want to patronize.
Do you want somebody to decide what corporations should exist?
For years, I have heard lefties badmouthing big corporations as evil. I have also seen how much lefties hate the top 1%, so it is interesting to see how this has evolved. No lefties so far have expressed that they would enjoy the hypothetical situation I presented in the opening post, so I suspect that the left has evolved to a position of liking big corporations, especially the top 1% of them. Maybe the Democrats should push support of the the biggest corporations in their upcoming campaigns?

I do not subscribe nor am I a prime member. I am for some liberty. The whole libertarian Let The Market Decide nonsense is nonsense. People shouldn't be able to sell stinger missiles. The government already decides who can or cannot do business. I would probably go to prison for life if I decided to open up my $199.99 brain surgery clinic.
We used to understand concentrated wealth and power, monopolization, was detrimental to society at large, now we celebrate it. Jeff Bezos owns Amazon, has ambulances sitting outside distribution centers because it cuts less into his profit margin than installing air conditioning. Buys up the WashPo. Enters into a deal with the CIA worth 3 times what he paid for the paper. Sits on the board of the Pentagon. Hires an ex CIA operative to write for the paper pushing more war.
Yeah whatever, no problem is there.
Stinger missiles and brain surgery by unlicensed doctors are very different from Amazon, Google, or other businesses that provide useful services to millions of consumers. By removing them you are destroying one of the values of the market by decreasing competition and giving government the power to decide what corporations get to operate--a dangerous precedent.
