    Default Evil Corporations

I often hear lefties referring to big corporations as evil. Would you like to see the top 1% of all corporations disappear?

I would be fine with Amazon, facebook and apple disappearing. Can we compromise that google just gets broken up? You can keep the rest.

    Corporations are only legal documents.

It's the corporate officers who are often lower than whale shit.

If a corporation turns a profit to its investors while reasonably operating in the public interest, there's no problem.

Here' the real issue. We have to strip corporations of the rights of personhood.

Corporate charters are granted by the state. The state should have the right to insist that they operate in the public interest.

How would you feel if they just magically disappeared altogether?

Whether or not they make profits and how much is not inherently affected by "the public interest". The "public interest" could be to maximize profits to maximize tax receipts; it could be to hire as many people as possible, etc etc. "Public interest" is about as subjective as "general welfare"

I can't imagine a circumstance under which that could happen.

The People's Republic of China has tons of them.

It looks like there is something blocking your answer to "How would you feel if they just magically disappeared altogether?". It is obviously a hypothetical situation, but something is stopping you from answering the question. What are you afraid of?

I don't need to think about that. I've never criticized corporations. It's corporate pirates whom I'd like to disappear. The corporate principle is probably necessary in the modern world, wouldn't you think?

And fuck you for thinking that I'm afraid of anything coming from you. What a fucking nerve!

Why not just refuse to buy products from those corporations you dislike and allow the rest of the citizens to make their own choices? We don't need more regulations telling us what we can purchase or from whom.

REGULATIONS are what protect consumers, workers, the environment, and even small investors in most instances.

The anti-regulation conservative mantra has NO moral validity. Nor do conservatives in general.

You don't have to regulate corporations that don't exist, silly goose. Facebook's only product is use the user BTW.

That does not give much of a choice to those who want to consume their products or services.
