They seem to have strong sounding verbal delivery. If it is 'san', it sounds like 'stong' when pronounced, or at least that is the way I perceived it. Like o-hi-o, the hi is emphasized and it seems like they bark it at you.

Can you imagine how the more dysfunctional states in the union would be doing if they weren't being propped up by New York paying vastly more in federal taxes than it gets in federal benefits? The nation is lucky New York isn't a foreign land.
