I don't have a dog in this fight, but I'm pretty sure that the way Florida's SYG law is written, it doesn't matter if a person who physically attacks or assaults you is retreating. I think you can still use deadly force.

Not 100% positive about that, but I seem to remember reading about it during the Zimmerman trial.
