Default Donald Trump: as unpopular as Nixon when he resigned.

    Who would've thought?!!

A new poll released this week shows that President Donald Trump is as disliked as President Richard M. Nixon was on the day he resigned from office.

What is weird is how many Republicans continued to support Nixon after his crimes became public, and continue to support Trump after he clearly lied about collusion with the Kremlin.

The other thing that has always struck me is that in our lifetimes, the worst the Republicans could ever find out about a Democratic president was a blowjob with a consenting female.

In our lifetimes, Republican presidents have commited rampant obstructions of justice, conspiracy, selling high tech American weapons illegally to Iranian mullahs, negotiating with and caving to terrorists, illegally funding civil wars in central America, colluding with the Kremlin and Russian state intelligence services to undermine political opponents, illegally launching wars on Cambodia and Iraq, and using the IRS and FBI to harass political opponents.

When you really think about it, criminality in the Republican Party is more a feature that a glitch.

Repubs still backed Reagan after Iran Contra. They backed Nixion after he conspired with Viet Nam to stop their negotiations for peace until Nixon won the election. LBJ called it treasonous, but kept quiet about it.. After Nixon resigned that old 35 percent still backed him. They probably still do. Trump cannot drive away that 35 percent no matter what crtimes he commits.

And Nixon was depressed as any sane person would be. Trump is seemingly fine. What a fucking psychopath.
