You still don't get Trump, do you? This is all about the shiny object. You know that it was reported that he said on a call that this was a 'winning issue' for him, right?
The first and hopefully last reality show/Animal House presidency.

so i'm supposed to take his tweets with gravitas when you find them unacceptable,
but dismiss them at other times as shiny objects. conflicted much?
You would understand if you were one of the faithful.
what is that supposed to mean?
I take his tweets at face value, and criticize the one's that are loathsome, and say good things about ones that are not.
Seems logical to me. Unlike Thing's looking for ulterior motives from a tweet
nice word dodge. how about "truthful"
You are claiming ulterior motives for his plain text tweets - yet when the tweets plain texts are worth criticism,
then they are the real thing

His tweets are just like speeches or words. We can judge them on their merit - I don't think his speeches are "truthful" either, but they are illustrative.

you can judge them on their merit. I do as well.
But you can't say "well he was saying what he thought here", and "he had ulterior motives" there.
Then you are judging his mindset (unknowable) and not the plain text .
