AMSTERDAM, March 17 (Reuters) - The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant on Friday against Russian President Vladimir Putin, accusing him of being responsible for war crimes committed in Ukraine.

Moscow has repeatedly denied accusations that its forces have committed atrocities during its one-year invasion of its neighbour.

The ICC issued the warrant for Putin's arrest on suspicion of unlawful deportation of children and unlawful transfer of people from the territory of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.

Whether Putin has committed war crimes or not, the international court isn't going to actually do squat about it because they can't do squat about it.

If you question whether he committed war crimes, then you don't belong in this thread.

It is the beginning. Putin is hiding with his gymnast concubine for months now. He is too scared to show his face. If reward money is offered at some point, it's just a matter of time before some group snatches him up and delivers him to the authorities.

My point has nothing to do with what Putin has or hasn't done. It was about the useless, ineffective, and meaningless actions of a court of clowns that has no legal jurisdiction nor any enforcement power. It's the legal equivalent of the UN. Thus my indirect end meaning: Why the fuck does anyone care what the ICC says, they're irrelevant.

Of course they have legal jurisdiction. They are a criminal court. Just as no other court can arrest someone in the street, they will prosecute Putin the moment he comes out of hiding.

It is up to other nations to arrest him.

You just admitted they have no enforcement power. If some nation doesn't want to arrest the person they don't get arrested. The court, unlike real courts, can't call up some law enforcement agency and say, "Here's a warrant, go and arrest this bastard."

So, Putin won't be arrested in Russia. He's not going to get arrested in any country he goes to that thinks the ICC's decision is bullshit either.

Have they actually ever had a trial where the defendant was present? Do they just do it in absentia or what? They're like the damn UN, useless as tits on a fish.
