The GOP's continued war on women.

Increasing competitiveness to me means paying the best for the best talent. If the top talent is female and a company tries to lowball her because she is a female and that woman goes somewhere else that the company that tried to lowball her just lost a top talent and could hurt its reputation in the marketplace.

An "equal pay" law does nothing for me in terms of increasing competitiveness.

that is because you are a white male who would only lose from an equal pay for equal work law

I saw him interviewed on TV where he said emphatically that collective bargaining was not a right. The man is unfit for public office.

I find it interesting that you consider collective bargaining a "right" but refuse to let people work without choosing to join a union......apparently there is no "right" not to collectively bargain.......

All people that join Unions have the choice to do so or not just like all people that may work for WalMart have the choice to wear the blue vests or not. No blue vest? Work somewhere else. Easy choice. Unions only represent in the neighborhood of 10% of the working population right now. The other 90% have chosen not to belong. They have also chosen not to work for me. Not my fault.

First off I wasn't talking about myself but why I would I lose from an equal pay law?

if they pay more to those on the bottom, then those at the top will likely get paid less to make up for it

surely you do not expect the masters to take less

Who are the masters, the people who worked their way up to the top of a company?

So you're argument is it is a zero-sum game and if a woman makes more a man must make less?

I work in real estate which is a very entreneurial field and we don't make much money on salary but can make a lot on the upside if a project is successful. So I personally am not taking any kind of hit by some equal pay law.

Women currently favor President Obama over likely-GOP nominee Mitt Romney by 58 percent to 38 percent, according to a Pew Research Center poll taken in March.

The gap in February, was similar – 59 percent for Obama, 38 percent for Romney.

Several GOP-controlled state legislatures are considering a “personhood amendment” that would provide a fertilized egg all the rights of citizenship from the moment of conception.

Some are considering a measure to require ultrasound and/or physical exams before a woman could have an abortion, or would bar contraception expenses from state health insurance programs.

Still others would inhibit teachers from telling students about birth control and require them to stress abstinence.

A recent USA Today/Gallup Poll in the swing states showed Mitt Romney trailing President Obama by 18 points.

Three Southern states share this trend, in varying degrees.

In each case, the earliest 2012 poll listed on Real Clear Politics is compared with the latest poll listed.

Surveys also show women in these states moving to the Democratic column.

The conclusion I draw from this post is that the ultra right, ultra rich, in addition to not caring about the rest of us, want more of us to insure plenty of wage depressing competition for the jobs they "create".

They just need more tax cuts. Then they'll give Americans jobs.

Just another twist on the 1869 deal between the Emperor of France and the Pope. France, experiencing a shortage of young men to send to war, offered to declare the Pope infallible in exchange for the church condemning abortion.

Save the "unborn" for the slaughter of war. Truly a deal made in Hell.

in your case you work for yourself and your compensation is determined how good you are, like others that work on commission, however, most people work for someone else and that someone else determines their compensation

not to mention that the dead souls could wind up in heaven giving eternal adoration to god

both the church and state would benefit from that deal

why do you think that the christian hell is portrayed as so horrible, life was so hard for most peasants that they would rather die, but the church's threat of hell scared them from suicide

Yet some righties continue to deny that the conservative movement has any sexist elements?

Red states are hellholes of ignorance and failure.
We know there's a better way, we just need somebody willing to fight for it!

apple....don't stoop down to legion and ken's level. you know the man is married. stop being juvenile.

Since when is being married a guarantee of sex?

And taking about "stooping" I wonder what his wife thought of his comment, "We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch."

On the other hand maybe the Limbaughs watch porno together to get in the mood. :dunno:
