Joe Scarborough on Trayvon Martin

why should anyone who politicized this tragedy be given a break

all i hear is everyone convicting zimmermen with basically ZERO evidence that he initiated this conflict. and plenty of plausible deniability, reasonable doubt, and outright evidence that it's the contrary.

There is a fervor where you have a large segment of the population that immediately put blinders on and wanted this to be the narrative of "white cracker kills 12 year old looking black kid eating skittles."

Then there is a good ~20-30% suffering from white guilt and wanting to make up for the whole rodney king incident.

I could see someone taking an ambivalent stance on this issue with regards to being charged but people clamoring at the top of their lungs for zimmermen to be imprisoned, acting like this is an open and shut case, are just straight up delusional.

I suspect at absolute most zimmermen gets like... 18 months + 5 years probation or something. And I think there is a very high chance he's not convicted of anything.

lmao...so because his opinion agrees with yours, he is right and "smarter"

tff

Please. I disagree with him, more often than not. Me, being in sync with him on this issue (rather, him being "objective" and unbiased) has nothing to do with his being smarter than you, and you being "wrong", more often than not.

Quite correct, on every count. And Joe is pretty credible, since he is a former conservative politician, and still believes in conservative ideals.

Yurt has nothing. His perception of the news & events is always incredibly one-sided.

no he's not. he's a special snowflake. he's a pussy that wants to be liked by everyone, so he'll throw the left a couple of bones now and then.

I disagree completely. He just isn't afraid to piss either side off. He still believes in conservatism - it's still his guiding philosophy.

But he doesn't carry water for the GOP. People aren't used to hearing any politician or even commentator speak that way.

Wow, what a maverick! He's so rogue and edgy!

says a JPP liberal.

As I said, special snowflake. I mean, you like him, and he's on msnbc. Do I need to go on? :)

So was Pat Buchanan...until he decided to promote his racist book...then even Joe Scarborough kicked him to the curb, as did MSNBC.

Joe is not credible, and hasn't been since he got his gig on MSNBC....and he wouldn't have that job if he was anywhere near supporting the Conservative line....
Yeah, he is a former Conservative and a former politican .....

Scarborough said,

"This has everything to do with a guy that's trying to play security cop, who is unhinged, who chased down and shot a 17-year-old kid armed with Skittles and iced tea.'"

That is completely wrong to say something so fuckin' dumb with no proof......
Zimmerman was not playing security cop, he is not unhinged, he did not 'chase down' the kid and didn't know he was not armed......he never confronted the kid directly at all......

That statement alone makes him the one that is somewhat unhinged on the subject, playing judge and jury on something he knows little about....

Oh if only you could be counted on to lambaste the talking heads on Fox with equal vigor, when they spit their baseless allegations and pass it off as truth.

Maybe then others might take what you say seriously.

The only conservative commentators that GOP party hacks like are ones that carry water for the party - like Rush, who admitted that he did.

Joe didn't all of a sudden become "liberal." He ridicules global warming alarmists, rails big spending, is loyal to a low-tax, small gov't message - he just thinks his party is effed sometimes.

If you're political and you do NOT think that, about whatever party you're most affiliated with, you'd better take a step back & reconsider your perspective.

Seldom watch them .....but when I've had the opportunity, they ALWAYS have an opposition view presented......and thats all I really want ...... for every big mouth to be confronted with an opposing point of view.....no matter who is the big mouth....

That does NOT happen on ANY MSNBC shows, NONE that I am aware of.....

As lame and inept as Buchanan was in explaining issues from the right, even he was silenced by MSNBC....

Too bad he's back......all we'll hear about now is race and homosexuality.....that was all he had before his much too short vacation....

But that's because we're white and don't understand.
Or at least that's the liberal definition.

Rush is a one man show.....more akin to the old Air America....except his is a 3 hour gig while left wing radio is left wing 24/7

No, Joe's conversion wasn't sudden but then he never really had far to go.....

and most people that follow the news ridicule gw alarmists after the bogus science was exposed
everyone in the country is starting to realize we are up to our eyeballs in debt
everyone in the country wants low taxes.......................for themselves and screw everyone else
and thinking people know all of us can't work for the government and it needs to be cut back
and the GOP Conservatives have written him off long ago.......its not his party and he is a lack-luster spokesman for our views....

but your certainly entitled to you opinion OC.

Oh okay...so because Fox allows some ineffectual "opposition" to sit in and get shouted down by the host whenever he/she tries to make a point, then it's okay that Fox talking heads make sure their baseless allegations get passed off as fact before the end of the segment...

no one said he's a liberal. But for you to go "WOW AND LOOk AT THIS, DIEHARD CONSERVATIVE JOE SCARBOROUGH EVEN AGREES WITH ME, DURRRR HUERRRRR" I am going to call you out.

you frequently lambaste fox talking heads and rush...yet i don't recall a single post by you lambasting any lefty talking head....

i guess we shouldn't take you seriously...

completely hilarious. joe doesn't cite a single thing...but his perception is better than mine. and i'm always one-side...good lord...why do you always traipse out this lie? you're actually doing nothing but projecting.

only a party hack like yourself would deny the left has politicized this. seriously.

to show how kooky joe and the lefties are, let's look at his example:

"Why is it that some on the right are actually taking this up as a cause?" Scarborough asked. "As National Review said almost immediately after it happened, this has nothing to do with gun rights, this has nothing to do with the Second Amendment, this has nothing to do with stand your ground laws, this has nothing to do with the NRA. This has everything to do with a guy that's trying to play security cop, who is unhinged, who chased down and shot a 17-year-old kid armed with Skittles and iced tea.'"

what he fails to cite is that this was in RESPONSE to the left making it about gun rights. they didn't just come out and say this out of the blue.

how come so many lefties on this site are so blind?

Joe's right, and you don't like it - your 1st instinct in this tragedy was political. You were one of 3 posters on here who said I was a hack and "defending Dems" for saying it was NOT political.

Everything is a lefty conspiracy for you; it usually is for right-wing hacks. It's easy to see from the outside, but when you're immersed in the koolaid, it probably just looks like "everyone else" is....
