Supply and demand, democrats limit supply. Price sky rockets.
And for that I say thank you! Please don't cave to the republican Jesus cultist.

Obama admitted in a speech in Miami recently that there's not all that much he can do to blunt the impact of prices, which some analysts think could be heading toward $5 per gallon nationwide this summer.

"The amount of oil that we drill at home doesn't set the price of gas by itself," Obama said. "The oil market is global. Oil is bought and sold in a world market.

You forgot option #5. "It's that fucker Bush's fault!"

I'd say that the upswing in petroleum consumption by China and India are probably having a greater impact on the price of gas then anything any of our political parties could have done. Particularly considering that 3/4 of the price of gasoline is the cost of crude oil.

Thanks again for the false shortage in America. Oil companies n me love oil over 100. Please promise not to increase drilling until 200.

Obama acknowledged the tricky position he's in — even as he pledged to do everything he can to solve the problem:
"You know there are no quick fixes to this problem. You know we can't just drill our way to lower gas prices" he said.

they lie. the admin and democrats are quite comfortable with gas prices and don't intend to do anything about it in the hopes that americans will finally start pursuing greener energy policies.

Guess what the price was in 1999? Oil would be under $65 without enormous drilling restrictions.

What commodity is priced at the same level today as in 1999?

What "enormous drilling restrictions" are those?

Let's see some evidence.

no, i'm pretty serious.

Energy Secy. Stephen Chu was asked in a House hearing this week if "the overall goal (of President Obama) is to get our price lower?"

Chu replied, "No."

He added, "The overall goal is to decrease our dependency on oil."

Obama is a politician. You may have already heard, but he has an election coming up this fall.

With the GOP pursuing a weak candidate, his #1 opposition is high gas prices.

He doesn't want to keep gas prices high. Unless he's insane.

So you think the government should set commodity prices?

Or do you believe Obama wants high gas prices in an election year?

How do you suggest the government should make prices lower?

did I say that?

No, you ducked the question. Should the government regulate prices?

according to the energy secretary, yes.

Really? Since the smaller, less powerful government you supposedly favor presumably wouldn't attempt to regulate commodity prices, that's good, isn't it?

easing restrictions on drilling, but most importantly, for refining.

Which restrictions? Be specific.
