CA passes "fun tax" -f'ing liberal moonbats

There's a thread for this argument. Post there. Otherwise, I'm not going to engage you.

It's OK to say that I'm right, SF. And I don't think this is a "building and safety code" so the maximum fines for a second and third offense are $200 and $500, respectively. But I'm guessing that the most punishment anyone would receive for playing football outside the designated area is a stern whistle from the guards.
Can I ask you a question Dung? Do you wear mylar socks?

The Department of Bridges and Harbors shall have the authority to determine the kind and extent of recreational programs to be carried out at the harbors and beaches. Pg 6:F

No more "under the towel" hanky-panky! :nono:

I didn't understand it either. That's why I looked at the ordinance. If you actually read it, you will see that the $1000 fine does not apply to unauthorized long toss. It applies to showing your naughty bits, something not listed in the amended ordinance, swimming when the guards say it is too dangerous to swim, and surfing and cetera in swimming only areas (which is actually quite dangerous).

What's that you're saying?

That ID is simply being a duplicitous shit stirrer again?

Who'd a thunk it?

It's just so unlike her...NOT

Dude, multiple articles all said the same thing. So unless we should assume every headline of every article is wrong or a lie how do you expect someone to know that?

The fact of the matter is that people CAN be charged up to $500 for a football throwing violation. Which is complete bullshit. But Dung approves of the government controlling every aspect of our lives. Next up... should we be allowed to speak in public as someone could get offended. The government should protect us by mandating what we are allowed to do. At no time should anyone be at risk of harm from anything. So lets all prepare ourselves for government mandated bubbles.

The article was correct in most aspects. The fine can only go up to $500, but still... they are over regulating and it is pissing people off in CA.

The truth is right there in the second paragraph of ID's post...

They call this a fine- but lets call it what it is "taxing fun".- absurd doesn't get anymore defined then this.

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — When you head down to the beach for a little fun this summer, county officials want you to leave the pigskin at home.

The Board of Supervisors this week agreed to raise fines to up to $1,000 for anyone who throws a football or a Frisbee on any beach in Los Angeles County.

In passing the 37-page ordinance on Tuesday, officials sought to outline responsibilities for law enforcement and other public agencies while also providing clarification on beach-goer activities that could potentially disrupt or even injure the public.

fines UP TO $1,000.00...

It's a phony, attention getting headline used to pull you in.

You really going to defend CBS on this? The same CBS people constantly criticize as being a part of the "Liberal media"?

You guys lambaste them for maiking shit up and then buy into something like this whole cloth because it supports your theory about the nanny state...

Yeah...it was only INCORRECT when it came to the HEADLINE and the UNDERLYING PREMISE...but other than that...

btw...anyone with any brains knows not to go to the beach because no one goes swimming in the "ocean" off of LA unless you're really interested in catching some kind of disease...

I'm confused.

The headline states you can be fined $1,000 for playing football on the beach. Dung claimed that wasn't true. Well it looks like you wouldn't be fined $1,000 your first offense but you could get fined up to that amount for subsequent offenses. You said ID was being duplititous (sp) for posting the headline. Well unless you read the 37 page report you wouldn't know you wouldn't get fined your first time. I saw four Facebook friends from LA post this article today. Were they all being dupilitious by doing so?

What underlying premise is wrong?
