Another Obama Record!… The Average Age of US Car on the Road Is 10.8 Years

I am aware that some independent review reached the same conclusion as CR: the Volt sucks. But, again I ask, where in the Consumer Report does it say anything about their test being performed in cold weather?

http://content.usatoday.com/communi...ts-pans-range-of-chevrolet-volt-nissan-leaf/1

The CR states, "Not only has Consumer Reports' test car been coming in at the low end of the electric-only mileage range -- 23 to 28 miles, not 25 to 50 miles as billed -- before the gasoline power kicks in, but CR had to pay over list to the get the car. It says it had to pay $48,700 -- full price plus options and a $5,000 windfall to the dealer."

The range of the Volt is 23 to 28 miles, period. It says nothing about cold weather.

That would be me. I am an Architechural Metalsmith. I do not repair fences though I do sometimes do historical restorations of significant ironworks.
Nor am I exceptionaly wealthy, though I do own everything except my home outright. My home has one more year to go.

LOL Okay, thanks.

For years Top referred to me as the "schoolmarm spelling teacher" and the "spinster", though he often wrote that "spinzer", which I would then correct causing him to call me a schoolmarm yet again.

I am neither of those things so I figured whoever he was talking about didn't really repair fences. LOL He is funny though.

Yes. The majority share holder of Toyota is one of the largest banks in the world, based in Japan. The profits from their car sales here are invested in Japan.

so it only matters where the company's majority of shareholders are? So if a company ships its manufacturing overseas, as long as the majority of shareholders are in the US it is good for the US economy?

So you're choosing to ignore Consumer Reports' findings? Okay.

Just came from the dealership. In stock, no options, $37,450 - $7500 credit. Under 30K
Gas only range 320 miles.
Cold range (Cape Cod) 33-35 miles/charge.
summer range 40-50 Variables include temperature, technique and terrain.
Cost to charge, $1.78

Your three major points are all incorrect, and two of them grossly, the price and the gas range.

LMAO... you are relying upon GM for your data above. He is using CONSUMER REPORTS. Which do you think is the unbiased source?

So the price the Chevy dealer quoted me is wrong? Just the fact that Consumer Reports paid 60% more than what I found the car for sale for, 3 miles from my house undermines their credibility too much for me to pay them any mind.

Further Brent stated the gas only miliage at 100. The actual gas only miliage is more than 3 times that. On the battery miliage they are within reason of what the factory says, when averaged for year-round climate, but the EPA miliage is still better than that sugested by Brent.

One... you are looking at the BASE price. They stated they had to pay above the base listing, plus they paid for OPTIONS.

edit: Also, if you go to Chevy's website, it states they lowered the base price by $1000 for 2012. To about $31,600 base (including the $7500 rebate). So your dealer offered you the piece of shit below the base price. Probably trying to find a sucker to get the damn thing off his/her lot.

As for the mileage, I would take CR's review over GM's advertising any day.

Okay dipshit, try to follow along, Brent said the car can go 100 miles on gas only, either a guess or a lie, I don't know. The reality is that it goes over 300 miles per tankfull of gasoline, and with a full charge and a full tank can go 400 miles due to regenerative braking gains.
Brent tried to hatchet the Volt with complete misinformation.

how do you know he is brent? seems odd that a fairly new poster knows that much history about someone....

Ok dipshit... you mentioned more than just Brent's 100 miles. My comments were directed from YOU trying to IGNORE the consumer reports info.

They said they keep running their Volt and are not getting anywhere near the 50 mpg that Chevy claims. They keep getting 23-28 rather than Chevy's stated 25-50.

My other comment was referencing YOUR comment on price. So dipshit... are you just trying to give the Volt a reach around?

Nothing in this post makes any sense at all. Edit it or fix it or just admit you have no idea whatsoever WTF you talking about. Brent tried to hatchet the Volt with complete misinformation, some of which was inacurate by 300%. I am responding to him and his post and not Consumer Reports, who, if they were doing a good job, would not have listed the cars price as 60% higher than reality.

Dune please buy it, it's a total failure piece of junk. 1 you won't get it for under 30 and you can tell us where it failed. Like where do you plug in out of state?
