I don't have any problem with a entrepreneur or capitalist charging what the market will bear from their ideas and productivity. What I oppose, as a professional, is one of them telling me I can't do that because I'm not one of them.

I believe this is the issue - Venture vs Vulture capitalism - that will tear the Teabag controlled Republicon party apart soon. Or at least put their brand of 'greed is good' capitalism back in the box for another 50 yrs while we rebuild the American dream. Right wing ideology has hurt the people of this country and the backlash is growing.

As a professional I say "Fuck Managers" most of them are bean counters who utterly lack imagination and contribute little to productivity. It's usually the professionals and skilled tradesmen who do the lions share of producing. How far do you think those folks would get with out the smart people who get things done?

Sorry....longer doesn't neccesarily translate to harder. I work 10 hours a day playing wack-o-mole on a computer. The guy working 8 hours a day shoveling pigshit works far harder then I do....but to my point. I'm far more productive.

That's not true. Some Venture can be vulture capitalism but not all. I spent 12 years working in a developing industry that would have never gotten off the ground had not some venture capitalist took a risk in us.

You bean counters want to charge up the ass for being the middle man fine...I got no problem with that....just as long as I can charge you up the ass to make widgets you need. Ah, that wonderful working class spirit. As anybody who has actually tried bean counting, it's actually a pain in the ass. Ask any logistics officer how well the infantry would do without him.
I have no problem with professionals getting paid a decent amount, however when you talk about what the market will bear it comes down to the market, if you are looking for mechanics, there are alot of mechanics out there, and a number of them are out of work, therefore they will work for wahtever they can get. If you want to subject things to market forces then you can't complain about what market forces produce, in this case they produce an environment where the employers win. People don't want what the market will bear because what the market will bear right now isn't enough to live on, that's why the government steps in with minimum wage, safety regs and laws regarding treatment of workers.

What I object to is this notion that has cropped up that being wealthy is inherently evil and one must be exploiting someone to have "won" the American Dream. I don't know where it came from but it needs to leave, send it back to Russia and China, they're good at communism.

Edit: Just an add on, along with that pay bump to manager also comes responsibility Matt. Last place I worked was a fast food restaraunt and I survived three managers who got fired because the business wasn't doing well enough, I may not have been paid as much but I could duck and cover when the higher-ups wanted a head on their desk for making a loss.
