Perry the bigot.

This person was elected Governor! Texas should be sanctioned, they had GWB and now this guy?

Maybe they should succede from the USA. I could live with having 49 states, or we could just add Puerto Rico.

He is worse than the Republican equivlent of Michael Moore or Jessie Jackson... And those guys were never elected to an office as high as Governor not even in Texas....!

I know you guys know this already but it will go over positively in the circle of states around Texas....that don't matter in the next election. It is the desperate act of a desperate man who is not going to get the R nomination and knows it. While he can win in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and places in the South, he cannot win elsewhere.

What should concern Obama supporting democrats more is the poll brought out on Morning Joe this morning showing that New Gingrich leads Obama in Ohio. I know it's a long time until the presidential election but c'mon.....Newt???.....I don't get it other than people have a bad taste for Obama in their mouths right now.

Despite Newt's obvious flaws and past errors (being polite)... what he does have:

1) He was in office and led the Rep Congress in working with (butting heads also) Clinton to try and balance the budget. I think you would see a similar reaction if Clinton were allowed to run again. People remember them from the time when things were 'better'. So Newt has that going for him.

2) Newt, like him or not, does come off as a statesmen. Whether he actually is or not is debatable. But it is appearance that often matters as Obama himself proved.

If we are looking at polls this early, dont forget that President Obama beats Newt Gingrich by about 9 percentage points nationwide, Newt can win Ohio all he wants, with a popular vote win of 9% the president wins the election hands down.

1) It will be easy to portray Newt as the ultimate insider.
2) In the appearance of being a statesman, I feel President Obama beats Newt hands down. (Newt beats the remainder of the Republican field hands down)

You may be right, SF, but the thought of him as POTUS scares the fire out of me.

Jughead, you would literally eat the corn out of Obama's shit! To have you give us your 'objective' opinion on Obama vs. Newt is laughable. We know you feel Obama beats Newt hands down, but unfortunately, we don't elect presidents based on what a Jughead feels. It will take electoral votes. Sorry!

WE might find out, I hope so. But knowing you predict differently makes me more secure. Do you like Newt's chances?

vs. Obama the ultimate insider? Ok... run with that.

Except President Obama is NOT giving the appearance of Statesman. He is given the appearance of a whiny, finger pointing, blame everyone else, partisan hack.

There is just something about 2 macho Marines in dress blues walking down the street holding hands and kissing that bothers me......
but then, telling children they can't have a small Christmas party in school after class or exchange small gifts with each other bothers me too......

Then you might as well vote for Obama.
This is the same whiny comments made in 2000 toward Nader voters. Dems tried to convince Nader's Raiders that they might as well vote for Bush if they were going to vote for Nader. It's bullshit. If Johnson runs I don't have to hold my nose and vote for one of the other two guys. I can vote for someone that REALLY believes in smaller, non-intrusive government that will stay out of the American people's wallets and bedrooms. Something neither Gingrich or Obama can say.

Where does this happen?
