Can you explain how being scared to live in America without constantly clutching a gun in your sweaty hands makes you 'manly', SmarterThanFew?

Tell the world why you are afraid to leave your Fortress of Fear without your crutch.

I'm bullshitting you guys. My wife does have one.
I did not grow up around them, my best friend hunts and when I retire if he invites me I'll go.
I was into sports as a kid, boxed and took martial arts.
If people a concerned I think they are smart to own one.
Shit I don't even play tennis with younger guys, when I hit 60 I'll prob get a gun.
Guess I can't razz u guys on this anymore

This is all very worrying, on the one hand you get people saying that the US is the greatest and freest place on Earth and on the other saying you daren't go out without packing some decent heat!!

Actually, if I am carrying I am more likely to use it to help/save someone else than myself. I do not look like a victim to the predators and scavengers out there. But I will also stop on a deserted highway to help a stranded motorist.

As I asked before, how about you? Would you stop and help a stranded motorist on a lonely stretch of highway or in a questionable neighborhood?

If it was an attractive young lady i'd certainly stop, if i were carrying a gun.

However, if i were unarmed, i'd have to consider whether brandishing a wheel-brace or small knife would be as effective in persuading her to get the back of the van.

Seems to me that a hero wouldn't be ruled by fear, and would stop and help regardless of circumstances.
