How Did Barack Obama Become "The Magic Negro"?

The fact you're allowed to alter the quotes of posters confirms exactly what I'm talking about. Most reputable political forums would have banned you for it.

we are adults. we dont cry over such simplistic matters. most "reputable political forums" mods get their kicks by deleting and banning people all the time. We dont do that because we expect people not to cry over simplistic message board drama. Though obviously not everyone is capable of such maturity.

Look how little JPP cares about people changing quotes in a quote box. It's just raw text with a quote bbcode surrounding it. It's not like our accounts are being hacked. It's pretty stupid how people cry over the dumbest fucking things.

I agree.

alias was banned more for spamming the shit out of threads and making them unreadable. not the act of changing the quotes around itself, which everyone does from time to time with no consequence.

I don't think altering the words of posters is "crying". It's called accountability. Most political forums will not allow it. The fact you do doesn't mean you are in any way superior. It just confirms the lack of seriousness here. It means you obviously like the drama and that's how you get your "kicks".

I don't think altering the words of posters is "crying". It's called accountability. Fuck you and the entire staff.

most people are aware of when a parody is taking place. Perhaps it's that some conservatives are simplistic mouth breathers and finding the irony in a message is like someone with colorblindness looking at those color circles? I don't know.

Now we're getting somewhere. Perhaps it's that some staff people here are just too damn ignorant and arrogant to see themselves in a mature light. YOU set the standard and it's not "parody". Change definitions and allowing trolling shows a very immature staff. You're a child.

thank you for your 2,500 posts on our inferior forum. :)

It is inferior. Anyone who has been around internet political forums knows that. This has obvously been a very incestuous community for quite a while. That explains the level of immaturity among a vast number of posters including yourself. You should be discouraging bad behavior instead of calling it "parody". Lightweight.

I post on a top 30 forum (based on traffic) that is widely regarded as one of the most reputable forums in it's sphere of influence. (not related to politics though they do have a big politics sub forum) and people often change the quotes around to make a point. It's very common on the internet. My guess is you are over 40 years old.

The point is, it's rather common place, and not just characteristic of our humble abode.

That aside, in 3 months you have 1/6th the posts I do, and I've been on here since the inception 5.5 years ago. AND I post a lot of one liners.

Say what you want, you love being here, you love posting here. :)

It's the freedom and laissez faire attitude we provide that allows all view points and dialogue to be exchanged in an open market of ideas. And when offensive or annoying stuff is presented, we expect most to be grown ups and ignore the poster.

It's also the same freedom that lets you get away with trying to post "negro" in every thread title. Something I suspect, would get YOU banned on many more "reputable" forums.

Thanks again for your active posting history :)

No, it's not common on the internet. Posting on one forum in the top 30 that allows it doesn't make it common. I post on 3 other forums and none of them allow it.

If posting "negro" is getting away with something, then when are you going to campaign for the UNCF and NAACP to take "negro" out of their names? As long as I have you here, I might as well educate you. You might want to sit back and take it in. You're obviously a youngster who doesn't understand American history and a product of our govt indoctrination system like a few others around here. Keep going with this. This is going to be fun for me and very embarrassing for you.

naacp doesn't have negro in their name.

It's their choice of what they want to call themselves. If I were black, I would not want a white person calling me a negro because there is history with that word in which I would be subjected under them. Even if they were well meaning or had no malicious intent, I would always be second guessing if there were racist undertones to how they talk to me, how they are addressing me, and so on.

A fellow african american using the word wouldn't bother me nearly as much, because I know that its very hard/impossible to be racist against yourself. I know that they are being genuine, and it's not as offensive.

I mean this is very basic stuff.

Right...."Colored", which is also considered a derogatory term if used by a white person, yet perfectly acceptable for Blacks to use. Again, people are being held captive by racist political correctness who are not guilty of racism.

You're indoctrinated. You were told to accept the double standard. All words are acceptable if you're black, but some words are not acceptable to say if you're white. You're a product of a racist educational system run by racist liberals. It's hypocritical double standard, yet you accept it thoroughly. It's safer than calling attention to the obvious racism and double standard and then being labeled a racist by lefties who troll on an internet forum like this one.

Let's get down to the topic....We have an OP/ED written in the LA Times in 2007 calling Barack Obama "The Magic Negro", yet the cries of racism are coming from lefties on this forum towards me. Explain that to me.

Come on. You were caught up in the hope of the first black pres and the thought of an intellegent president after 8 years of the idiot-puppet.

Hillary had the experience, the balls, and Bill.
Ted Kennedy fucked it up by throwing his endorsement to Obama.
Obama should have been vice, for 8 years, then pres in '16, but no, we had to have instant gratification
Hillary would have busted balls and kicked ass after what the repugs put her through in the nineties.

We would have had single payer, Bush players held criminaly responsible, and left the two wars by now.

Obama has done a lot of good, but not enough push.

Obama just shouldn't have run. He runs a damn good campaign, but what are you supposed to do when you actually win? He just comes off as bumbling and goofy. Basically all of the big movements in the Democratic party have been initiatives of other leaders. What was he expecting?

Some of the posters are starting to get it, but they'll never admit it. Their political correctness is so ingrained and it takes courage to speak truth to power. That's what this entire smear about Herman Cain is about. It has absolutely nothing to do with a sexual harrasment lawsuit.

I'm a bit nerdy. So, sometimes, I will refer to myself as a nerd. This is a bit ironic and self-defamatory, so it's cool. It's not offensive. If a big football player went up to me and said "Ah, what a nerd!", there's no way that that can come off as non-offensive. Is that a "hypocritical double standard"? Similarly, rednecks often ironically refer to themselves as rednecks, and gay people often call themselves "faggots". It is ironic, funny, and hence, not insulting. However, in no universe would I, after observing this behavior, expect to be able to go up to a redneck and say "You're a stupid redneck", or a gay person and say "LOL faggot". Nor do I consider myself the victim of some horrendous oppression because of this.

The N-word is, of course, an extreme example of this. The offensiveness of slurs is directly related to how a subculture is perceived by the dominant social class. So, there's pretty much nothing you can say that can seriously offend a white person, because they're the dominant class. There aren't slurs (that can be taken seriously) for Muslim in Saudi Arabia either. Black people, on the other hand, have historically been the bottom of the bunch. So the word associated with them has incredibly offensive connotations. Redneck and nerd aren't awful in a social setting, faggot is something that you need to keep from saying in this day and age, and the N-word is basically a swear. In the logic of comedy, however, this actually makes it all the better when used by someone who the slur would typically be directed against. But there isn't any way you can say it without being offensive. I am sorry. This is reality.

It's just incredible to even try to imagine the sort of logical contortions you must go through to justify this level of privilege blindness. Apparently we must put our hands over our eyes and pretend that social class doesn't exist; However, in regards to some negative things which we all know exist, such as the fact that blacks are naturally less intelligent + criminals, well, it's equally wrong to frown at intellectual pursuit in regards to those worthy subjects. It's completely and totally backwards that blacks should be able to ironically insu.lt themselves when I can't insult them as well.
