"Joe the Plumber" running for Congress

Here's part of an article on Yahoo. Now who's putting him up to do this, and what are he and they getting out of the deal? It seems foolhardy to think he's going to turn around a district that hasn't elected a Republican in over thirty years.

"Joe the Plumber" has filed paperwork to run for Congress as a Republican in Ohio's Ninth District -- home to two of the most liberal Democrats in Congress. It will be an uphill battle, to say the least...

Wurzelbacher acknowledged in 2008 that his fame was unlikely to last beyond the hyper-partisan climate of the presidential campaign, calling himself "a flash in the pan" and "a novelty." But now, it seems he has decided to capitalize on the similarly hyper-partisan climate of the 2012 campaign...

Wurzelbacher will face one of two Democratic incumbents: Marcy Kaptur or Dennis Kucinich, both longtime members of Congress and members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Kaptur and Kucinich are competing for the Democratic nomination after their seats were combined in redistricting.

The former Ninth District, which includes Toledo, has not elected a Republican since 1980. The 10th District, which includes Cleveland and is currently represented by Kucinich, last elected a Republican somewhat more recently, in 1994.

good for him. and foolhardy....won't know until he runs. americans are fickle. i remember liberals declaring the gop is dead after obama won, the mantra was chanted for nearly two years and then the gop took back the house.

Good God! A rerun of Joe the Plumber. I bet the late night shows are salivating at the prospect of potential material. HA!

How did he get those 'more than 15 minutes of fame?' Oh yeah, team Obama went up and started asking him questions. They really didn't like his responses and turned the media onto him.

I haven't a clue to what he may or may not bring to the race in general, but do know that he's experienced in dealing with the press and not through his own choosing.

He was a liar, and not what he presented himself to be, he will make a perfect politician, a GOP shill...

Gee, Obama and minions and media is in your face, what would you do? I'm not saying he did right, but he was played and not through his own doing.

Joe the Plumber is no longer a fan of either Sarah Palin or John McCain, it seems.

Joe, also known as Sam Wurzelbacher, told an audience in Pennsylvania this week that McCain "is no public servant."

"McCain was trying to use me," Wurzelbacher said, according to public radio correspondent Scott Detrow. "I happened to be the face of middle Americans. It was a ploy.”
"I don’t owe him s—," Wurzelbacher continued. "He really screwed my life up, is how I look at it.”

In fact, Wurzelbacher's dislike for McCain is so strong that he no longer supports Sarah Palin simply because Palin will campaign for McCain's re-election.

As for Obama: "I think his ideology is un-American, but he’s one of the more honest politicians. At least he told us what he wanted to do."

Well Annie Joe doesn't agree with you...

Rana, I don't think I presumed to say where Joe or I stood.

You do realize you are getting weaker and weaker with each post in different forums? You need to actually take a stand and stop relying on me or a loved one to respond.

I want what you are smokin...

The man is a buffoon. This harebrained idea is more evidence, if evidence was ever needed, of the mind boggling stupidity of those Americans who believe that they should each have their fifteen minutes. It makes the tea party look almost acceptable!

Oh what bull. John McCain and Sarah Palin immediately began using his name in stump speeches and soon had him appearing with them. McCain promised to bring "Joe the Plumber" to DC with him.

The man stepped up in front of a crowd of reporters, and asked a Presidential candidate a question. That's on him.

The Republicans immediately attempted to make him their Mr. Smith. THat's on them.

Get off your cross.

Joe the Plumbers running for office?

F that S, i say.

Now, Tito the Builders...that's where a jaded American electorate will find the answers.
