Herman Cain Wins Florida Straw Poll!

Why do we keep hearing about these straw polls as if they actually make a difference? Now, had this actually presented Florida's votes for the nomination or something this would be a big deal. But it didn't.

I like Cain and all, but straw polls are worthless when predicting who the eventual nominee is going to be.

Maybe these Republican straw polls are the work of sneaky liberals who stage them to make the GOP look bad.

Not according to Zappy. Bachmann was said to have "lost Georgia" when she came in third in their straw poll. I maintained that she didn't "lose" anything, because there was really nothing to win, it didn't count for anything and doesn't have anything to do with the primary elections. But he argued for a week that she had lost... I think he's still arguing it in that thread.

I think it's impressive how many straw polls Cain is winning. It makes me wonder if the media is being honest, as they try to frame this as a race between Perry and Romney. We've seen all too many times, the media pick the candidate... constantly bombarding us with the idea one of these two men will ultimately prevail, and the rest don't really have a chance. People hear this, over and over and over... by the time it comes time to cast their vote, they have fallen for the trap, and end up picking one of the two, thinking it's going to be one of them and they want to pick the winner. Republicans, think for yourself! Vote for the candidate YOU like, don't listen to the media! I think Cain has a better than average shot, but what I see happening is the same thing that gave us Bob Dole and John McCain as candidates.

Dix-lie says straw polls aren't about losing, then declares Cain is "winning", with no apparent sense of irony.

I think it's impressive how many straw polls Cain is winning....

Does it matter, Dix-lie? And how many has Cain won?

It makes me wonder if the media is being honest, as they try to frame this as a race between Perry and Romney...

Since Fox is part of the 'media', is Dix-lie saying he wonders about their honesty?

Who's "we", Dix-lie? I cannot recall a time when the media picked a candidate. Can you provide some evidence of that having occurred?

Please, Republicans, listen to Dix-lie, and split the conservative vote....

I am very happy Cain won, this makes it more likely that I am wrong and that Perry will not be the nominee. I am sure Romney is very happy with the outcome.

Nope. Perry best mirrors the conservative philosophy, IMO.

How come he's the national frontrunner, yet no JPP righties will admit they support him?

Maybe the same reason Romney is also a frontrunner and no one admits they support him?

Several people on here support Romney. Noone will admit to supporting Perry who the polls show is the clear frontrunner.

Really, no one admits they support Romney?

If that's so, and it's the same reason, what's the reason?

Do you comprehend the difference between "a" frontrunner and "the" frontrunner?

Perry is the frontrunner in every national poll of likely GOP voters I've seen.

How come no JPP Republicans will endorse him?

I'm not a republican, but I'll vote for whoever their party nominates for President. Donald Duck would get my vote before Obama.

Ah yes, Dixitard the two-faced lying hypocrite was JUST whining about how I make these straw polls out to be more than they are, IS THE SAME GUY who started a "Cain Wins Florida" thread about the Florida Straw Poll!

And where's the lying assclown DY with his incessant claims that Dix thinks this was a "big win" for Cain?

How many elections has Herman lost so far?

Guess what?

He'll lose this one, too, and then he'll be too old to try again.
