As most Americans celebrate Labor Day, let's not forget that there are extremists among us whose goals are to eliminate the reason for the holiday.
They are called Republicans.
If you see a Republican enjoying Labor Day, remind them of these facts.
They are called Republicans.
- They dismantled our industries, put profits before people, and shipped jobs overseas where labor was cheap and unregulated and pollution wasn't an issue.
- They fought everything the labor movement stands for - a living wage, health and safety standards, and benefits for workers.
- They have presided over the largest transfer of wealth in history and destroyed the middle class in America while further enriching the top 3%.
- They allowed banks, mortgage lenders and Wall Street to halve the value of the average American's home, and then bailed the crooks out when the market crashed.
- They have systematically supported the wealthy and powerful while accepting money from them. They have waged a decades-long campaign to reduce the ranks of union workers, who now comprise less than 7% of the workforce in America's private sector.
If you see a Republican enjoying Labor Day, remind them of these facts.
