The OP is just more of the same that we've been hearing for years. Pretty soon we'll start hearing about "spit" then watching videos where none flies. It's interesting the comment that any black folks associated with the Tea Party would be Uncle Tom's. Seems similar to me the mindset I saw growing up in Oakland schools of black kids who got good grades getting accused of wanting to be white. Being a kid and doing well in school is challenging enough without the peer pressure that you're selling out your race by trying to do well.
I was talking to my boy yesterday. He's a black dude who did 'SC undergrad and MBA. I didn't find out until I knew him for awhile that he was a Republican. I don't talk politics with him that often but it is definitely interesting to hear why he holds the beliefs that he does. I don't know if he would associate himself with the Tea Party or not. Either way I don't think there is anything about this guy that qualifies him as selling out his race unless you consider jungle fever to do so.

Sorry man I don't know if this is the difference between Houston and Oakland but in Oakland to say someone is your boy is not racial or offensive at all. It is a compliment. And he is the only black Republican I know. All my other black friends are Democrats and we speak the exact same way to each other. There is absolutely zero offensive about someone calling a friend 'your boy'. For example, Frank the Tank in Old School, "you're my boy blue!"
