How do you know the political ideologies of gang members?

It doesn't have to be specifically gang members they can just be thugs.

Considering that 95% of black people voted for Obama I don't think it a large leap to assume if you are an inner-city black person you support Obama and the Democrats. Wasn't it close to 2/3rds of Hispanic voted for Obama? Same goes for them.

I can't speak for everyone on "the left" but I, and the liberals that I know, are capable of abstract thought and understand the concept of metaphors. So no, I don't get sick of this "rubbish." I kinda like it, actually.

No, metaphors are OK when liberals and left-wingers are the target audience because liberals and left-wingers understand that metaphors are metaphors. Right-wingers have difficulty grasping the concept.

I can't speak for all liberals, but the targeting and "don't retreat, reload" stuff bothers me because extreme right-wing gun nut freaks, the intended audience, are crazy people. I understand that they are metaphors, but the intended audience may not.

So one editorial in the NY Times is "everywhere?" And why is this interesting? The hostage metaphor was in pretty wide circulation and given the fervor that the extreme right-wing has for Draconian spending cuts and the damage they are willing to inflict on the economy to get them, jihad is pretty spot on.

They cuts they wanted were Draconian. The cuts they got aren't the cuts they wanted.

No, there are left-wing gun nuts but they understand metaphors. That's why I provided the modifier "right-wing." If I thought there were no left-wing gun nuts I would have just said "gun nuts" without the modifier as the modifier would have been redundant surplussage.

I don't thin think the Tea Party caucus actually put out a plan. If they did, I would link to it. They wanted to balance the budget overnight, which would require Draconian cuts.

The Tea Party cracks me up. I am sure that there are some well informed members such as yourself, but the ones I have seen speak, well, they don't even know what they are fighting for or against most of the time. To me, it is scary, you laugh but this is our loves at stake here. We are selling our souls to international corporations who only care about the money and not how they exploit the nations they do business with! I heard a gret comment the other day, "yeah, the tax breaks are creating jobs, overseas, but they are jobs!

Oh, come on, why don't you just share some of your vast knowledge as to why we are allowing our manufacturing jobs to go overseas...I know my reasons, the Chinese and Indians are easier to exploit than the citizens of the USA, but we are quickly catching up to those standards and in another ten years, well, they can bring those jobs back here because our standard of living will be as low as India's and we will be willing to work for scraps because it is all we have left!

I am sure your Tea Baggers have a solution to job loss, can't wait to hear their wise counsel on this one!

Biden was agreeing with a line of argument made by Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) at a two-hour, closed-door Democratic Caucus meeting.

“We have negotiated with terrorists,” an angry Doyle said, according to sources in the room. “This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money.”

Biden, driven by his Democratic allies’ misgivings about the debt-limit deal, responded: “They have acted like terrorists.”

Biden’s office initially declined to comment about what the vice president said inside the closed-door session, but after POLITICO published the remarks, spokeswoman Kendra Barkoff said: “The word was used by several members of Congress. The vice president does not believe it’s an appropriate term in political discourse.”

Biden later denied he used that term in an interview with CBS.

“I did not use the terrorism word,” Biden told CBS Evening News anchor and managing editor Scott Pelley.

you're about half right. wages are cheaper in china and india, but so is the cost of living. corporate regulation is also less expensive over there than compared to here. It should lead you to the logical conclusion that companies are going to base their business where it's cheaper and more profitable. This seems to be something that liberals refuse to acknowledge.

you can start blaming this on the FDR administration, and then every administration/congress right up to now. Their desire to artificially inflate the price/value of property has had it's desired effect of erasing a majority of the middle class. yeah, they talk a big game of wanting a bigger middle class, but they are flat out lying to you.
