Wow.... you truly are quite full of yourself. You CLAIM others are 'puffing themselves up' but thus far that is what we are seeing from YOU. This is an internet message board, a point you seem not to understand. You come on here and say 'I'm black, gay, a poet, up for poet laureate of Houston'. When someone points out that ANYONE can claim ANYTHING on here, you immediately fall into 'oh, what, you don't think a black gay liberal can accomplish 'x''??? Which goes right back to a comment someone made after your announcing your race and sexual preferences.... you appear to have done so in order to use that as your standard response to anyone who questions you. Which is pathetic.

As to your questions as to whether anyone has read your poetry, the obvious answer is that NONE of us know. Because at this point, you are just an anonymous poster who calls himself 'poet'. If you want people to comment on your work, you have to put it forth or tell us who you are so that we may look for it ourselves. If you are not willing to share the personal information necessary to find your poetry, then do shut up about it. Because quite frankly, it matters little when it comes to discussing politics on a political message board.

I will grant you CNN is up for opinion, but none of the others listed is even close to being debatable. Their liberal bias is quite well known. Even the liberals on this site wouldn't argue the point.

I will also grant you that my opinions of the View and the Judges is just that... opinion. So feel free to argue the merits of those programs if you choose. I am sure it would be entertaining.

Well, being totally objective...the single reason I idolize Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow, and Chris Matthews is , liberal bias aside, they simply "tell the truth". They have never lied in their opinions, (that I have ever witnessed) and are truly "fair and balanced" in their assessments of topics and current events. On the other hand, I have watched Bill O'Reilly, Don Imus, Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs, and Fox News on occasion, and quite frankly, was appalled at the level of misinformation, innuendo, outright lies, bias, and propaganda that goes on. Rush Limbaugh is all that times ten.
I appreciate CNN as being unbiased, without much "spin", and pretty "straight forward".
And you're speaking for the liberals? Where does that gravitas come from, as you seem pretty borderline "rabid" to me.

If I were going to go on a message board as bragging outlandishly, I would not pick a poor artist role as the one to throw out.
I would have no reason to believe dude is not a poet or proud of his accomplishment and am glad to welcome him.

Kind of interesting the number of people who believe pundits that share their viewpoints 'tell the truth' and 'don't lie' and 'don't spin' etc. etc. while of course no one who doesn't share their opinion does that. That goes for people on the left and right. We often see and believe what we want to see and believe.

1) Olbermann is a complete moron who does nothing more than bloviate in the exact same manner as Limbaugh. He IS the Limbaugh of the left, just not as 'popular' (as determined by ratings... not my personal opinion). Maddow is decent, but she still allows her personal views to slant her show to the left and it is very obvious. Neither are fair and balanced in the least. Matthews is the closest to fair of the three, but he has fallen into the 'who can be a bigger partisan hack' competition that so many 'journalists' have joined in recent years.

2) Limbaugh is a complete moron, Beck is trying to be like him, Dobbs is average at best but not nearly as bad as the previous two. I have never listened to Imus so don't really have an opinion on him. O'Reilly, like Matthews, is the closest of the lot to being fair, but he too is in the competition.

I have no reason to doubt him either. That was not my point.

The point is that he is doing exactly what he is accusing others of doing and he is also doing exactly what they predicted he would do.

I have no problem with someone describing themselves. But for him to say.... 'I am black, gay, liberal' and then as soon as someone disagrees with him fall back on 'you just don't think a black gay liberal can do 'x'' is pathetic and deserves to be called out for it.

I can assure you, there is no one here "as full of themselves", as I am....and for good reason. I'm smarter than most...and after 58 years, I see things quite clearly.
I know that just flies in the face of most. Barack Obama experienced the same thing. He was smarter than the average bear, and you know how one of the worst things a black man can be is "knowledgeable" and "intelligent"...so immediately, he was attacked, much as I am. But I'm not claiming to be a victim, because I can handle it...just left a forum where the exact same thing happened. I make folks uncomfortable, because I direct them to the truth, which they would rather not deal with.
Obviously, my candid description of myself, put you and others on the defensive, because you obviously have issues surrounding race and sexual preference...while others could care less, and filed away the information , instead of making it an issue, as you're doing now.
Another thing is honesty. To me, it's the most important thing, for a variety of reasons. I don't lie. When you are unashamed and living in your truth, there is no reason to lie. On the contrary, I'm an open book. Maybe it's a liberal thing. I have yet to find a Republican or conservative who could tell the truth, about anything.
So, when asked to clarify the reason I chose my ID, Poet...I answered truthfully and candidly..but that wasn't enough for some. Some poster chose to post his poetry from when he was 17, I guess as a "pissing contest" challenge. I have nothing to prove. My book is out of print, and the remaining copies are in my closet, and on my hard drive. I'm in the process of publishing my second, an e-book of poetry as well as my sophomore music cd. Which will be available for purchase in the near future.
And your suggestions will be taken under advisement, but I can tell you now, I don't respond well to demands or discourtesy. As for shutting up, about anything...you're always free to put me on ignore.

I and millions of others can see that the Republicans have been total assholes, and uncooperative with President Obama, from the day of his inauguration, and that they are determined to see to it that he is a one term president. That has zero to do with seeing what we want to see or believe. Why do you think that the general consensus is that the Republican Party is the party of "the rich" and "the white" and that the Tea Party is basically "filled with racists and bigots"? Where is the illusion, or smoke and mirrors?
