Based on the fact that I maintain an FFL. In order to process an NICS transaction a minimum of 1 firearm is to be sold. I can sell as many as the purchaser desires per check, but it has to be at least one. Therefore, the MINIMUM number of guns sold is a 1-1 correlation. The MAXIMUM is incalculable.¯¯¯̿̿¯̿̿’̿̿̿̿̿̿̿’̿̿’̿̿;812413 said:Says who?
"statistics represent the number of firearm background checks initiated through the NICS. They do not represent the number of firearms sold. Based on varying state laws and purchase scenarios, a one-to-one correlation cannot be made between a firearm background check and a firearm sale."

That is not what he said at all.
Do you know what a "one-to-one correlation" is? That means that there would be one firearm for every background check. And the holder of an FFL just told you, there is at least one firearm sold for every approved check, but possibly many more.

Interpret this: "statistics represent the number of firearm background checks initiated through the NICS. They do not represent the number of firearms sold."
No, my position is that the NICS checks represent a MINIMUM NUMBER OF GUNS SOLD.¯¯¯̿̿¯̿̿’̿̿̿̿̿̿̿’̿̿’̿̿;812572 said:So your position is that the statement "statistics represent the number of firearm background checks initiated through the NICS. That would indicate that gun owners are far better of financially then non gun owners.sounds like way less households, but way more guns per gun nut household.

That would indicate that gun owners are far better of financially then non gun owners.
Oh the irony of you correcting my spelling. I meant better OFF, not of. As in your assertion would mean gun owners are in general substantially more wealthy than non gun owners in order to facilitate the increase in gun sales.better of what
better of what
Well how else are they able to buy more guns? Especially expensive guns like the AR15? The absolute cheapest AR15 you can buy runs around $600, and can go upwards of $3500.I didn't assert that at all, I'd say they are better at collecting guns and GED's and cousin/wives.
No, my position is that the NICS checks represent a MINIMUM NUMBER OF GUNS SOLD.
The same interpretation.
If St Adolphus ran 100 NICS background checks that were approved, and sold one gun to 90% of them and 2 guns to 10% of them, he would have sold 110 guns for 100 checks initiated through NICS. So the number of checks does not represent the number of guns sold.
