So Libs... What's the economic plan for $10 gal. gasoline?

I'm one person on the left who is going to get rich on the lefts false outage and econazi delusional policy while it last.

Of course I get it. Still doesn't change the fact that the speculators are driving the price.

lol.... true... but you stated it wasn't due to the turmoil... THAT is where you were wrong. It is the turmoil that is causing speculation to increase

And as long as democrats falsely restrict supply many more things will qualify as supply disruptions than otherwise would have. This is how I made my first mill, I don't see why it and mobile cell providers won't get me the second.

First of all, gas is not predicted to tit $10/gal. $5 maybe. Second, it is not because of turmoil, it is speculation, plain and simple (like you).

If you are worried, perhaps you should utilize some of Obama's work, buy an electric car and get your $7500 credit. If you were smart enough, you could even get some subsidized photovoltaic panels to charge it with.

You need to read the news a little more

I've been calling for a "mission to the moon" style effort at energy independence. The president should spearhead an effort to be energy indecent within 10 years.

Oh, there is no doubt in my mind, some of them would LOVE to see the entire system of government collapse and Communist Socialists take over America! To that ends, the rising cost of fuel isn't a concern, but an aide to their ultimate objective. But for right now, they need to get Obama reelected, and I don't see that happening if gas goes to $10 a gallon...or even $5 a gallon. The ramifications on the economy will not be overcome, and the 'blame game' is not going to work for them.

Well dixie i believe some crisis will justify martial law from here on in... The EndGame is upon us. Reelection is not an issue.

It can be done. The left has to get onboard w/ "drill, baby, drill", though - it's got to be a kitchen sink approach. We need domestic drilling as a stop-gap (for about 5-7 decades, so maybe a bit more than a stop-gap); obviously, we need to further promote and fund R & D into wind, solar, bio, geo and tidal; and we need to start changing our infrastructure - now, as opposed to when we start to realize real shortages, and not the fake ones we've seen up until now.

Move infrastructure into LNG rather than gasoline for cars, use the oil and coal for electricity, roads, plastics, etc. Drive for independence quickly, we can be independent within a matter of years. Many decades to see real "renewable" energy viability, but we have the resources to be independent quickly, we just need to be willing to use them.

We can do this, let's elect somebody smart enough to see the need over their own overpowering need to press their will on others. The idea that we can replace it with "green" energy with no real overlap is preposterous, and actions speak louder than words. We aren't in "kitchen sink" mode, and never will be with this President. He's unwilling to go far enough, and doesn't appear to see the pressing need.

I'm just curious about this... now that it's pretty clear the rising gas prices are not because of Bush's Big Oil friends, but because of OPEC and what's happening in the Middle East. It's pretty obvious what our foreign policy is going to be there, so I am just wondering, how do the Democrats plan to rescue the economy when gas tops $10 a gallon?

The way I see it, this is going to be difficult at best, and I don't believe the voters are going to buy that it's the fault of Republicans or GW Bush... so, you better be thinking of something quickly! As the price of fuel rises, it's common sense that consumer goods are going to rise proportionally in price, along with the inflation we're already seeing because of 'quantitative easing' by the Feds.

I guess we can remain in denial a little while longer, but eventually, even the dumbest of the dumb are going to catch on here. Markets are all still fairly good at the moment, but that will likely change as well. It's about to get really bad across the board, I am afraid, and Democrats seem to be a bit flat-footed on this, no one is even talking about it. Shouldn't we be developing a "plan" for when we have gas that no one can afford?

What is the plan from the right?

They control the House

The Dems have asked Obama to open the reserves if things get bad, I guess you didn't hear that plan, now what is the right proposing, you guys are suppose to have to the solutions, remember, that is why you got the bog landslide in November! So come on Repubs, start working your voodoo magic!

I'm not sure about the timeframe on renewables. On paper, I agree that any sort of significant transition seems decades away; but one thing history has shown us is that things previously thought impossible can develop much more quickly and extensively than most would have predicted. Innovation & development in fields like technology & medicine has been exponential.

I forgot to mention nukes; I hate them, but they have to be a part of the plan for independence.

And yeah - I'm pretty disappointed in Obama on this issue. He's punting.

going after the reserves is not an answer, short or long term.

For decades we've let the left hold the country back on a comprehensive energy policy that could get us off foreign oil dependence, so much so that we're looking at $4 average a gallon gas by memorial day. We the people, not the rich fucks in office, are going to be feeling that hurt for a long time, but we have no other alternative than to suffer through the 7 to 15 years it will take to outfit the nation with our own oil sources and energy.

If the left cares even a bit about it.

The right is promising billions more barrels of domestic oil which will slow oils massive coming price increase.

As we finally get there, the millions of owners of the oil companies will finally be treated fairly.

LMFAO!! So THAT is your plan? Point the finger at the House of Representatives, where the GOP enjoy a slim majority, and blame this on THEM?

Sweety... the Democrats couldn't advance their agenda with the House, Senate, and Presidency, along with a bullet-proof supermajority! But the GOP is supposed to 'solve the problem' with barely controlling the House?

And the Strategic Reserves!!! That is priceless! Yeah, let's use up all the oil we've squirreled away in case we have a real emergency! THEN WHAT??? Dumbass!

This is the Repubs country too, where is their brilliant plans, you guys always stand around waiting for the Dems so you can point the finger of criticism while at the same time never having a solution of their own. It cracks me up. The party of responsibility never takes responsibility! Their big plan is just to blame the Dems!

So, Sweetie, this is always your answer, blame the Dems! Good plan, don't know how much longer it will work for you guys and judging by your lack of doing anything great so far...well Boehner has been pretty damn ineffective, he needs to take gavel lessons from Pelosi! His bigger gavel has been under performing! It has been rather flaccid. So, it just goes to prove, bigger isn't better!

Remember all the great things they promised to do, well, after getting the tax cuts for the rich, don't expect too much from the Repubs, you will be greatly disappointed.

You talked about your WIN! like it meant something, I guess you have changed your mind, it didn't give your the power you thought you would have, isn't that too bad!
